Finding out different ways in order to become strong will be a continuous task that you’ll be doing in Blade Idle. As you level up, you’ll be able to get better skills, equipment, and upgrades which will significantly boost your stats. However, there will be cases where you’ll need more stats in order to complete specific game modes such as dungeons.

One of the ways that you can achieve this is by acquiring Pets that you can bring alongside your journeys. In this page, we’ll be checking out how the Pet system works in Blade Idle. By having lots of pets at your side, you’ll be able to get the stats that you’ll need in order to clear some of the game’s challenges. Let us check how this feature works below.

How the Pet system works

When going on your journey in Blade Idle, you’ll set out in a series of battles all on your own. What if there’s a way for you to have some companions along the way? The Pet system is a feature that you’ll be able to unlock once you have cleared stage 3-20 in the game’s campaign mode. This will let you use the Pet feature that you’ll find in the main menu at the bottom side of your screen, and at the same time you’ll be able to access the Pet dungeon. As the name suggests, pets are creatures that you can acquire in order for them to join you on your journey.

There are up to 5 slots you can use in order to bring pets. They can be unlocked by clearing stages in the Pet dungeon, and you’ll start from low grade pets and work your way up to better grades as you progress in the dungeon. Each pet that you can acquire can provide you with boosts to your stats, and having pet combinations will let you unlock party effects.

Pet Options: When checking your pet out, you’ll notice that there’s a “Change Option” feature. Using this button will let you re-roll for other types of stats that can be beneficial for you. For example, you can reroll for ACU stats in order to increase your accuracy, just in case you are trying to clear dungeons with monsters that have high dodge.

Rerolling your pet options will provide you with stat boosts with varying grades as well. You can even get bonus effects if you have all options that are mythical grade or higher. In order to reroll for options, you will need an item called the Option Enhance stone, you can acquire this at the Enchant Stone Dungeon.

Upgrading your Pet

Since pets provide you with bonus stats, they only follow you around. They aren’t aggressive, and they’ll leave all the attacks to you. However, that doesn’t mean that your pets cannot become strong. Whenever you are clearing different stages in the Pet Dungeon, you will notice that you can acquire rewards that have a little spirit icon on it. These are Pet Souls, and they are materials that are required in order for you to upgrade your pet.

Pets that you can acquire start at 1 star, and they can be upgraded up to 6 stars. By using the upgrade feature, you will be consuming pet souls in order to raise the star rating, which will in turn unlock more option slots for you to use in order to get more stat upgrades. By having a full team of pets with all option slots unlocked, you’ll be able to mix and match different stat boosts that will suit your needs.

How to get Pet Souls: If you want to upgrade your pets, you’ll need to acquire specific souls of the same type as your pet. You can only acquire pet souls by clearing the stages in the Pet Dungeon, however they can only be cleared once. If you plan to farm for more souls, you will need to reach the latest floor that you can, if you cannot finish it anymore then a sweep ticket will be required.

You can acquire Pet Dungeon tickets for free by watching the Ad section of the game’s shop. There, you have a daily limit of 3 tickets that you can acquire. You can also acquire pet dungeon tickets from completing events since they are given as rewards. In order to make the most out of these tickets, it would still be best for you to try and clear as many floors as you can.

Tip: When clearing the Pet Dungeon, their dodge and defense will slowly increase as you move clear more floors. You will need high PEN and ACU stats in order to be able to hit your enemies. Try rerolling your pet options to have these stats.

Merging Pet Souls

When checking the other section of the pet menu, you’ll be able to find the Pet Soul tab. Here, you’ll be able to find your collection of the Pet Souls that you have acquired. What if you already have a pet that’s maxed out for their star rating, would the extra pet souls you have go to waste? Thankfully, this is where the merge feature comes in.

When checking the merge menu, you’ll be able to combine up to 4 pet souls in order to get a random new soul. Take note that in order for you to merge successfully, you will need to mix pet souls of the same grade such as all Rare ones etc. Merging pet souls can be useful if you have excessive ones that won’t be used.

Use the Merge feature to combine 4 pet souls of the same grade and turn it to a random soul. Using the Auto Merge will use all available pet souls that you have as materials.

As you progress to late game content, you will eventually need Legendary Pets since they can provide you with the best stats. Acquiring their pet souls can take some time, so you will need as much materials as you can. Completing your daily pet dungeon runs will help you acquire the materials that you need in order to make your pets stronger.
