Last Updated:

When playing Blade Idle for the first time, you’ll start off your adventure in the game with a character that has a set design. Customizing your hero isn’t available at the beginning, so you might be wondering if there’s any way to change this. You might notice that changing your equipment doesn’t alter your hero’s looks. In Blade Idle, costumes are one of the options you can use in order to change your appearance.

In this page, we’ll be providing you with a Costume Guide in order to learn how these items work, the benefits they can provide, as well as their overall functions. Costumes are very useful in Blade Idle since they can be equipped to suit specific needs, let’s check what features they have to offer.

What are Costumes?

When looking at your Hero for the first time, you’ll be looking at their current skin. The skin of your hero will change depending on the latest Hero Upgrade challenge you have completed. Even though this changes your hero’s look, costumes are items that you can place over your skin. There are two types available: Costume and Weapon.

You can modify your Hero’s looks by swapping out their costume

Whenever you equip a costume for your hero and weapon, this will be the look that you will be able to see while your character is out fighting on the field. Costumes are not just aesthetic changes, but they can provide you with bonuses as well. You can manage your costumes by opening your inventory, and checking the “Costume” tab on the right side. Each costume has a special effect that can provide you with bonuses, such as improving your stats or perhaps increase drop rates from specific areas in the game.

By swapping out costumes according to your need, they can help you in the game such as farming for gold, increasing skill book drops, or perhaps boosting your ATK in order to clear dungeons or challenges. You can mix and match costumes and weapons to get a variety of effects which can be useful to your needs.

How to acquire Costumes

Costumes can be acquired from different areas in the game. One of the main locations you can acquire costumes from are from the Shop. By checking the Shop, you will be able to go to the Costume tab and check different items you can purchase using Diamonds. The items shown here can also be updated in the future, so make sure to check if you have purchased all costumes that are available.

Some costumes are rewards from events and passes. For example, you can acquire useful costumes from completing the New Player Attendance event, or you can acquire some costumes from the Level Up Pass and Stage Pass (this is only applicable for those who purchased the special value pass). Make sure to check the event tab as well to see if some costumes can be acquired.
