Combat (Journey) Guide
More Refantasia: Charm and Conquer
Journey is the game’s campaign mode where you have to lead your soldiers and followers to expand your kingdom and conquer other territories. In our Combat (Journey) Guide, we will discuss the basics of this mode.
Refantasia: Charm and Conquer is a simulation and empire-building game where players take on the role of a Lord and attempt to forge their path in a fantasy medieval world. Choose your consorts, produce heirs/heiresses, forge alliances, and manage your kingdom and lead it to prosperity.
Journey is a campaign mode where you have to clear progressively harder stages using your soldiers and followers. This is also one of the most reliable methods of earning Player EXP that will help increase your Royal Level. Not only that, by clearing the last stage of a map, you’ll also be able to recruit a new follower for that map.
The soldiers in your realm are resources, and the more you have, the more you can afford in conquering other territories. For every round in a battle, you’ll lose a certain amount of soldiers. (Battles have multiple rounds) Your Martial Power rating will determine the amount of soldiers you’ll lose; the higher the martial power, the fewer casualties you’ll have for each round of the battle. After reaching the chapter’s boss stage, your followers will step in to fight the stage boss. The boss has a fixed amount of HP and each of your followers will land an attack on the boss. The combat will last until either you run out of followers or the boss is defeated.
The damage dealt by your followers during boss fights (or when fighting opponents in the Arena) will be determined by their Might stat. A follower’s might is affected by their Martial talent and their individual levels. If you have exhausted the number of followers that can attack and the boss is still standing, it will be considered a loss. You can try again once you have more powerful followers. You can open the Follower screen and check the might tab to see which of your Followers have the highest Might value. You can also consider leveling up all your followers at least to LV100 while continuously improving the Martial talent of your main attackers.
Finally, you’ll eventually have the option to perform Quick Battles. These will allow you to instantly clear all stages of the battle without waiting for the entire combat sequence to be finished. You’ll be able to see the number of soldiers and combat power of the enemy side. Additionally, you can also see how many soldiers you’ll lose for this session. As you progress through the levels, the number of soldiers you’ll lose will still continue to increase even if the predicted casualty is considered “minor”. As long as you keep the predicted soldier casualty low, you can keep pushing on with combat as long as you can afford it.
