After creating your first hero, you’ll be testing out different skills, and you will also learn about summons. Let’s check the different features you’ll be expecting, soon enough you should be able to get a grasp on what you’ll do each day.
Choose your class carefully
In order to start your adventure in Never After, you’ll have to create your character first. A lot of MMORPGs provide you with different classes that have specific skills that they can use, and this will determine what kind of role that they have in battle. In Never After, you are able to choose from 5 different class types when starting out.
Each class has a specific playstyle that may suit your preferences. When playing MMORPGs, there are classes that let you have a role such as the Tank, DPS, Supports, and more. Here are the classes available in Never After as well as their descriptions below.
Class | Role | Description |
---|---|---|
Knight | Tank - Defense | A brave warrior from the temple knights who uses his lance and holy shield to defend justice and equality throughout the land. They are the warriors of the team, equally versed in attack and defense, and ready to surmount any obstacle. |
Hunter | Ranged - Damage | A group of elves from the forest who are as deferential to nature as they are dedicated to the art of the bow. Nimble as they are, they can take down enemies from a great distance, making them the nucleus of the team's power. |
Sorcerer | AoE - Control | Nature is interlinked with the elements, and their use has almost become such that they have almost made all into one. They have both the burst type magic damage and silence at their disposal, making them the main force of control on the team. |
Assassin | Burst - Control | Concealed in dark corners and blended in with the night. A lone harvester, quicky attacks are his modus operandi. If ever you escape an assassin like this, it may only be due to their mercy. |
Musician | Magic - Healing | The graceful musicians hail from the nightingale of heaven, and their carefree attitude is enough to convince anyone that there is beauty in the world. Their soundwave attacks and powerful healing make them a popular addition to any team. |
Thankfully none of the classes are gender locked, but you might notice that some classes belong to specific races such as Hunters being elves. Once you’re able to choose the class that you’ll be in, you can customize your face, hairstyle, headwear, eyes, avatar, and name. Make sure to choose carefully before starting out. When beginning, you’ll be able to watch cutscenes before playing, you have the option to skip it if you wish.
Understand the gameplay through the tutorial
A lot of MMORPGs might play the same since you’re able to control your character around, use skills, and whatnot. However, whenever you’re playing a game, it would be best for you to take note of the game’s tutorials in order to learn about its features. There might be instances where there’s important information that’s provided that you might glance over.
When playing Never Idle for the first time, way pointers will be provided for you in order for you to learn about the next destination that you need to go to. Usually, you’ll be able to interact with objects, npcs, and more in order to progress through the story. Playing the tutorial will also provide you with a preview on how the class you have chosen feels like.
During battles, you will be able to manually control the movement of your hero, and you can choose skills according to your timing. A good example to take note of is the danger area that will appear on your screen, this will signal that a strong attack is about to happen, so you can manually dodge it when needed.
Use the Quest Tracker to start pathfinding
Even if you’re able to move your character on your own, you’ll be transported to a world where things might be unfamiliar. In order to keep on track with the game’s story, a series of quests will be provided to you. A Quest Tracker will appear on the left side of the screen, and you’ll be urged to tap on it in order to start pathfinding.
Once you tap on your current quest, your hero will move to the next location that’s needed for you to go to. You can usually tap on this tracker in order to automatically move to where you need to go, but remember that there can be instances where you need to move on your own, so look for any markers on the map in order for you to know where your next destination is.
Tip: Aside from using the in-game joystick, you can also tap on the field in order to let your hero move to that direction.
Read more about your Hero’s skills and upgrade them
When starting out in the beginning of the game, your Hero will come with three basic skills for you to use. You will then have to level up your character in order to acquire skill points for use, this will help you upgrade your skills in order to become stronger. Skills can also be unlocked once you reach the levels that are required. Active skills can be used in battle when you press its corresponding skill button while Passive skills have effects that are always with you.
You should be able to see the Skill button on the lower-right side of the game’s screen. The tutorial will also instruct you on how you can access it. Read up on your skills in order for you to learn more about your character’s type of gameplay. Some skills that you can use can help out in battle if you time it properly, instead of using skills repeatedly at random. You can also allocate your skill points and focus on skills that you really need the most at any given moment.
Time your partner’s skills properly
Part of the game’s tutorials will let you partner with a Pixie in your team. Later on, you’ll also be able to add more partners to go with you, and their role is to provide you with additional support through their own set of skills. While you’re in battle, you’ll find their skill icon right above your own skills.
Your partner’s skills will vary depending on the character that you add to your party. You must take note that their skills have a long cooldown compared to yours, therefore you will need to time your usage of their skills properly. For example, using your Pixie’s healing skills will be best used if you only have low hp, try not to spam it especially if you still have a lot of HP to spare. The timing and usage of skills will of course be dependent on the partner that you currently have on hand.
Once you’re able to finish through the initial locations of the game, you’ll be focusing on unlocking the other main menu buttons as you progress in the story. Continue by tapping on your quest list in order for you to know where you can go next. As your character increases in level, you’ll need to improve your stats by providing better equipment, skills, and more. This concludes our first part of our beginner’s guide. Don't forget to check the second part in our guide menu in order to know more about what you can do in the game each day.
Hopefully these tips will help you on getting started on your journey in Never After. We are aiming to create more pages about this game alongside its other features that you’ll be encountering.
