In Never After, you get to go inside a world where you can explore with your own character. There are different classes to choose from, and you’ll have your own skills that you can use in order to defeat different enemies. Within this world, there’s also other familiar characters that you may notice that come from different fairy tales.

These characters can be recruited as partners, and they can provide aid in battle by using their own set of skills to help you out. In this page, we’ll check out how the partner system works. There are a lot of benefits when recruiting partners, you can also improve them in order for you to get better effects. Let’s check what they can do in order to aid you.

What are Partners?

When playing Never After for the first time, you’ll get to explore the game’s tutorial in order for you to learn the basics. As you play along, you’ll also be able to recruit your first partner, the Pixie named Barbara. When checking out the game’s interface during battle, you have different buttons that you can use in order to attack, as well as use skills.

Your partner, on the other hand, has a specific skill slot which can be used. This means that your partner’s skill can be used alongside your own, and they have their unique effects as well as their respective cooldowns. For example, the Pixie named Barbara can aid you in battle by dealing magic damage in a specific area, as well as healing allies within its range. There are other partner skills that you can use as well if you check their information.

As you play the game, you’ll be able to recruit more partners within the game’s story, you’ll also be able to collect fragments to unlock more partners. They also have different ratings from R, SR, to SSR where higher rated partners usually have better stats and skills.

Deploying Partners: With different partners available to collect, you might be wondering if you can use multiple of their skills at a given time. As you progress through the main story, you’ll be able to unlock more skill slots in battle for your partners. For example, you can deploy 3 partners in order to use their skills to aid you. You can use different combinations such as support and even offensive skills, so make sure to read up the skill effects of your partners.

You can save up to 3 teams of different partner combinations. Checking out the Deploy menu in the game will let you set up your teams, and you can tap the “View Team” button in order to check out their stats, as well as their respective BR.

Partner Skills: There are 3 types of skills available that your partners can use. Awakening, Active, and Passive skills. Awakening skills have higher cooldowns but stronger effects, they usually have signature moves that make your partner unique. Active skills have short cooldowns, and they can provide you with a variety of buffs in battle, or perhaps they can aid with damage. Passive skills on the other hand, provide permanent bonuses such as improving their stats or skills.

Partner Rendezvous and Cultivation

Now that you know how partners work in Never After, you might be wondering if there are ways to to learn more about their character profile, or perhaps make them stronger. This is where the Rendezvous and Cultivate features come in. When checking out your list of partners, you’ll find these buttons on the lower-right side of the menu.

Rendezvous: When checking out the Rendezvous section, you’ll be able to view their information and profile. You’ll notice that some of their information needs to be unlocked by getting close to them, and this is done by providing gifts. Gifts are items you can acquire in the game in order to increase the level of closeness that you have with your partners, this will unlock memoirs which will provide more information about their lore.
