Each class has a unique set of skills that they can use which helps shape up what type of role they have.

In this page, we’ll be checking out how skills work in Never After, as well as how you can use and improve them. Once you have determined the class you have, you’ll want to learn about your skills in order for you to know which ones must be used during battle so you can focus on what you are meant to do. Let’s check how skills work below!

What are Skills?

So, what are skills exactly in Never After? Once you have played through the game’s initial tutorial, you will be provided with an idea how skills work. Depending on the role that you have chosen, be it Warrior, Mage, Musician, etc., you’ll be using your first skills during the start of the game.

Skills can be used by your character in order to provide an effect in battle. This can come in as an offensive skill, defensive skill, or even supportive skill. Some classes, such as Warriors, have a mix of offensive and defensive skills. While others such as Musicians, can help the team with supportive skills. Generally, skills can be categorized as the following:

  • Active Skills: These are skills that you can use in battle, you assign them to your skill slots and press their button to activate their effect. They also have a cooldown wherein you must wait for a specific time to finish before they can be used again.

  • Passive Skills: These are skills that are always in effect, they are usually added bonuses for your character. There are also skills called Enhance and Evolve skills which affect your active skills, and they can be considered as passive skills as well.

  • Partner Skills: These are skills that only your partner can use. You can deploy up to three partners at a given time, and use their corresponding skill which also has a cooldown.

  • Clan Skills: These are skills that can be used only if you’re part of a Clan. Depending on your Clan’s effort, the bonuses you can get will be based on the clan’s skill level. They can be considered as passive skills as well, but it's dependent on your clan’s upgrades.

  • How to improve Skills

Now that you know what skills are in Never After, you might be wondering how you can improve them. When checking through the game’s menu, you’ll find there’s a dedicated section called Skills which you can check. Depending on your class, you’ll be able to view your skill tree for your current class.

In order to improve Active and Passive skills, you will need to use skill points. These points can be acquired as you level up, which means that the higher level you are, the more skills you can acquire. Later on, you’ll also be able to access more skills upon class promotion.

Partner skills on the other hand are based on their upgrade. If you improve your specific partner that’s used in battle, they can have better skills which can aid you as well. Check the partner section in order to see their skill sets available which can provide good bonuses for you.

Finally, Clan skills can only be improved if you manage the clan. Clan members can join in events that can provide contributions for the clan; therefore, their skills can be leveled up which can be beneficial for all members that are part of them. Take note though that some clans have BR requirements, so you can focus on improving your character first.
