Last Updated:

There are a lot of available MMORPGs out there right now, whether it be on PC or Mobile, each game has their own experiences in terms of how you can play it. In Never After, the game has a specific way for you to play out in terms of receiving and doing quests, as well as being able to control your character for battle.

In this page, we’ll be checking out how battles work in Never After. We’ll be checking out the game’s controls, as well as how you can attack and use skills. Being able to position yourself properly will also help out in your survival, let’s check what you can expect when playing below.

Game Controls

When playing MMORPGs, one of the main things you will need to take note of is how the controls work in the game. Thankfully, this feature should be oriented to you if you play through the game’s tutorial. In Never After, you get to control your character through the use of the virtual joystick, you can even tap on the map in order to go to the location you wish to go to. Usually, tapping on quests will enable you to move automatically, therefore manual movement is more helpful whenever you are going to be in a battle versus enemies.

You can freely explore the world according to your liking, but you might be completing quests using pathfinding, and you’ll eventually gain a mount that you can use for your travels. However, being able to control your movement is important, especially when you have battles versus a lot of enemies.

On the right-hand side, you’ll find your attack button as well as the different skill buttons that you’ll be able to use. You can equip up to four skills for your character, and there will be 3 skill slots available for each of your partners for them to use.

When starting out in the game, you’ll have access to a few skills in order for you to get the hang of how your character works. As you level up, you’ll later be able to unlock more skill slots for your use. Each skill can be upgraded as well with the use of skill points, so make sure to check your skill list.

Skill usage and cooldown

Fighting enemies will involve you to use basic attacks in order to damage them. Alongside regular hits, you have skills that can be used that can provide a variety of effects. For example, the Knight class has skills that can increase their defensive capabilities, get the enemy grouped up together, etc. Using each of your skills will also mean that they have their respective cooldowns as shown on the numbers counting down after each use.

Skill cooldowns can be long, therefore you need to make sure to use your basic attacks repeatedly

Partner skills have longer cooldowns, use their skills as needed only. Later levels in the game will require proper timing of skills, since your enemies will have advanced movements and usage of their attacks. Read up on your character’s skills and use them accordingly in order to fit your role on the field.

As you reach higher levels, you’ll be able to get better skills since you’ll be able to promote your current class into a higher version. This will provide you with a new set of skills that can provide you with different effects. Mastering your skill usage will mean that you must know what each skill that you use can do, and you won’t just spam your skills and wait for cooldowns to finish.

Avoiding strong enemy attacks

Battles with enemies usually mean that you will need to take out their HP in order to defeat them. This is easy if you have regular opponents, however there will be cases where you can fight bosses. They have higher HP, and they can have strong attacks that can take out a huge chunk of your HP.

Check the field and look out for danger zones

Whenever the boss will attack, you’ll be provided with a warning through the danger zone that will appear on the ground. Avoid potential damage by moving your character away accordingly, this will help out in your survival, especially if you are a tank trying to cover for your other team mates.

Content that you’ll be able to acquire later in the game will provide you with higher difficulties. If you rely on spamming skills, then you might lose the battle. Make sure to use the controls that are provided to you in order to ensure your survival, you must also make sure that you are contributing to your team in terms of your specific role. Tanking, dealing damage, providing support, are all important in a team’s composition.

By mastering your movement and usage of skills, you’ll be able to take on other challenges that may come to you. Reading up on your own character’s skills as well as partner’s skills will help you learn more about their effects as well as cooldowns, you will soon be able to time your skills right during battle with ease.
