Best Heroes Tier List

As in all games of this nature the heroes you unlock and use in the game will greatly dictate your performance. Here you will find a list of the best heroes in the game and a tier list of our favorites.

Best Heroes

All of the heroes are classified as either; R (blue - common), SR (purple - epic) or SSR (orange - legendary). So obviously in all cases the best heroes are the SSR ones but they are often harder to unlock, harder to get shards for to upgrade and harder to upgrade their skills with instructional books because they are rarer.

While the best heroes are any from the SSR Tier, they may not always be the best for the situation if you don't have the shards or books to increase their abilities.

Also in exploration mode, having heroes with the correct abilities for their position is also really useful regardless of their tier. For example you want the defensive tanks in the front ideally with the other fighters behind.

Just a couple of things to bear in mind when deciding which are the best heroes for you in the game.

Our own choice of best hero is Molly, we acquired her when we purchased the 2nd builder unlock. Molly is a very powerful SSR Tier fighter, and probably the only way to unlock her is via an actual purchase.

However you may be lucky and unlock somehow in events or get enough shards to summon her.

Other SSR Tier heroes are also great and have different strengths, Natalia and Jeronimo for example are both strong fighters and tanks, Zinman is good for city growth and distance attacks.

As stated above while SSR Tier heroes are the best, they are also the hardest to upgrade so you may find that you also use a lot of Epic heroes in your mix too.

Depending on which Legendary heroes you have already unlocked will depend which epic heroes you utilise. So for example I only have one tank legendary, so I like to use Sergey for now as an Epic hero that is a strong tank.

I also don't have a legendary that shoots long range, so I also use Bahiti for that function.

While these selections are not legendary, it does help me have a well balanced team of heroes to play the Expedition levels.

There are three tiers in Whiteout Survival, SSR, SR and R - here is a rundown of all of the heroes currently in the game.

Upgrading Heroes

There are three ways to upgrade heroes; Hero XP, shards and books, lets take a look in more detail about all three of these methods as to effectively upgrade any hero in Whiteout Survival you'll need to do all three.

Hero XP

Hero XP ised to upgrade the level of your hero. Unlike books and shards, hero XP can be used on any hero.

The higher the level of hero, the more Hero XP you'll need to use to get your hero to the next level. Hero XP is easily gained in the game by completing some missions, helping with rallies and in some events.

Usually the level that you can take your hero to is dictated by the level of your furnace, so even if you have a ton of Hero XP, the current level limit for all of your heroes is dictated by your furnace level.

Shards

Shards are usually found via recruitment in the Hero Hall. The Advanced recruitment option may gain you some R Tier shards or heroes, and the Epic recruitment option may gainu you SR or SSR tier shards and heroes apart from other rewards too.

Shards are also sometimes available in events, check them out to make sure you are not missing out on some easy SSR shards, sometimes just by logging in for a few days in a row.

Shards can be hero specific or tier specific and you use them to Ascend a hero which can greatly increase their stats if you get them high enough.

More ascensions however generally means more shards, which is why it can be so hard to max out any SSR tier heroes.

Expedition and Exploration Instructional Books

These items allow you to upgrade a hero's skill. As you ascend your heroes new skills become unlocked and then you can use books to increase the skill level of a hero.

These skills are specific to a hero and can greatly increase the specific power of a hero. Always be on the lookout for books as they are super valuable in the process of upgrading your heroes.

Recruiting Heroes

The best way to recruit heroes is in the Hero Hall, here you can use keys to make recruitments. You have the chance of getting shards or heroes and other things.

There are also always offers to purchase some SSR tier heroes, if you are enjoying the game, then this could be a consideration to do.

Look out for events too, as these are always good to spot opportunities to recruit new heroes or to gain more shards.
