Research Center and Researching Tech

The Research center is a really important building, it is where you can get significant upgrades that will improve you rate of growth, increase your gathering abilities and strength and improve your troops.

The Research center is easily overlooked, especially if you are not familiar with this type of game. But all in all, it's the most, or one of the most important buildings in the game because of the amount of improvements it can give you. Staying on top of research is a great way to maximize your strength in the game based on the limitations of your furnace level.

Researching Tech

If you go into your research center you will see there are three branches to research; Growth, Economy and Battle.

Our recommendation is that you take as many of all of these to the minimum level you can as soon as you are able, so just go through each one and get them to level one.

At some point you will find research items that you cannot upgrade just yet, and this would be based on the level of your research center, and that is limited by the level of your furnace.

After you have got every research item that is currently unlocked for you to at least level 1, then go back and focus on whatever you feel is right for your style of game.

My preference is to primarily work on battle, this allows me to get through more expeditions and just be as strong as I can be for my level when making attacks on the map or in rallies.

I don't ignore the other two branches though as there are some rally important items to unlock such as Command Tactics which will increase the number of Expedition armies that can be deployed at the same time, and this is found in the growth tech tree.

Also, you will find that many of the early research items are very cheap, we also recommend just getting these cheap upgrades as they often enhance you a lot more than their cost, and will also unlock other more important research items too.

Here are all of the level details, you can see that as the level of the research center increases it also increases the speed of each research item and contributes more to your overall power score.

Alliance Research

We may as well touch on alliance research here too. If you are part of an alliance they also have their own tech trees too; Growth, Territory and Battle.

Here it is important to contribute to your alliance tech development. As a member of your alliance you cannot make the final upgrades, but you can contribute resources to allow the upgrade.

Contributors to alliance tech also get rewards based on their level of help, these rewards include gems and alliance tokens.
