There are over 100 different units to collect in Warpath ranging from infantry to tanks, to missile deployment systems. There are a number of ways to collect and upgrade troops and we'll take a look at that on this page.

Acquiring Units

Usually units are acquired by drawing cards on a visit to the cheat icon on the top right of the game screen. It's best to wait until you have 10 cards and draw 10 as a batch. Other ways to get cards could be when you level up or take air drops from your base.

Disassemble Units

At the production facility there is an option to disassemble 3 star units, this is a pretty good idea to do, as realistically you won't be using these lower grade units in the game, so you may as well disassemble them and get some resources back which can be used on other things.

You can also disassemble any other units you want. So if you have upgraded a unit and no longer want it, you can disassemble it and get back all of the resources that you have spent on it and then you will ba able to take those resources and upgrade something else.

Assemble Units

When you have three units of the same type you can assemble them to form a single stronger unit. This is a really good idea to do as you will increase the power of a single troop, which will be more useful to you in the game.

Upgrading Units

Units can be improved by leveling them up, modifying them or adding parts. Check out your options by tapping the army button and selecting a unit that you want to upgrade.

You can also affect the strength of a unit by selecting the correct officer to command that unit and by making military research at the research facility.

For every 10 levels you need to enough bullets as well as experience points to level up a unit. These are mostly gained through completing the campaign missions.

Recruiting Units

Units are recruited via the army tab. You have allocation of units that you can recruit per day, this is the number at the top of the screen next to the helmet icon - it's about 500. Recruitment is quick, but it costs resources, so if you find yourself engaged in battle you'll have to consider hp0w many reserves you can call up, and how much spare resources you have to purchase more units when they get defeated.

Best Units

What the best unit is in Warcraft is pretty subjective and really also depends on what you are trying to achieve at a specific moment in the game. There are over 100 different units and they all have their own strengths and weaknesses. Rather than having a specific best unit, you should work on having an incredible set of units that you can choose from depending on the specific mission of purpose.

So you'll need infantry, artillery, light tanks, heavy tanks and rocket launchers and depending on the enemy you are facing put forward your strongest unit team. Not only that, but the formation that you use as you throw them into battle is also important, putting your heavy units or well defended in the front to protect lighter, long range units such as the rocket launcher.

Focus on your high starred units first of all, upgrade these as much as you can, and look if you can assemble them to make them stronger too. Don't forget to modify your units and add parts too. Another critical factor is to make sure the officer controlling the unit is well leveled up and suits the unit they are assigned to.

Assembling an Army for Campaigns and Raven

When putting together an army, the units you choose should be balanced with units capable of absorbing enemy fire and units that can deal damage. Basically for the most of the game, where you are attacking Raven troops, Raven bunkers and completing missions I can recommend a army made up of the following units as follows:

1x Infantry

1x Rocket Launcher

1x Tank Hunter

2x Heavy Tanks

An army composed of these units can pretty much get good enough for all campaigns and to destroy Raven on the map, here's an explanation...

You'll need the infantry to soak up damage, these are the ones that you'll position to always get hit first, so when they are being used, activate the bunker for increased defense. Also put a lot of resources into leveling up these guys, the higher their level, the longer they will be able to absorb damage, allowing your higher firepower units to destroy the enemy.

The Rocket Launchers are your high damage dealers, but they are incredible fragile, so keep them at the back. Level them up to increase their firepower, you want to be able to destroy everything before your infantry are killed.

The rest, well basically you'll come across a lot of tank units in the game, so having a good tank hunter unit in your army is essential, these guys will blast the enemy tanks as well as being strong enough to take some blows themselves.

And finally 2xHeavy Tanks. This is really down to what you have available, but these last two units are pretty flexible and don't need to be the heavy tanks. I do find, that while they are stronger, the super heavy tanks are too slow to be that useful, and the heavy tanks have a good mix of speed, defense and firepower, they are my preferred tank unit. However you may want to go with light or medium tanks instead, and you'll be fine. What's most important is to have a strong infantry to absorb hits.

Later in the game, if you are getting stuck, you may also consider having 2xinfantry for extra damage absorption. Or 2x Rocket Launchers for increased quick damage.

Assembling an Army for Field Battles

The units you should use in field battles will differ significantly from those that we recommend for using in Campaigns and Raven battles. In Field battles, your priority should be strength and speed, you will need high durability tanks and those that can withstand a lot of punishment. So before you engage in field battles, you should take time to make sure you have completed as much military research as you can, this will strength your units generally. Also to make sure that your units are attached to a commander of the same camp`.

Take a look also at your parts and try, wherever possible to use parts that are of the same camp as your unit itself. So for example if you use vanguard parts on a vanguard unit, there is usually a bonus to be had.

Parts are really important in strengthening your units. We have a parts guide here, and also check out our campaigns guide as you'll need to complete campaigns to get the blueprints that you need to construct parts for your units.

So basically we think that the if you use the same tanks that we recommend for the campaign battles (2x heavy tanks, and 1x tank hunter), you could either team those with more tank hunters or add in some medium and light tanks.

The main problem however with mixing tank types is that they will move at different speed, leaving them vulnerable to attack if they become too spread out over the field. So keep an eye on their movements and try to keep them together.

We are recommending to try to use some of the same tanks as you would in campaigns so you don't have to upgrade too many different tanks and you can concentrate on fewer overall in order to upgrade them more.

The most important thing to consider however when preparing for field battles is to get a single maxed out unit. If you go into battle with a load of tanks that are level 80 or 90, you'll probably get shot to pieces, it's much better to just send into battle your maxed out units wherever possible.
