This is the section for players who really want to max-out the game and its entertainment without needing to spend real-world money.

The strategies that we teach you here are useful throughout the entire game, but really become major advantages once you have decided that you would rather take the patient route and play with your time, and not your money.

The following Advanced Tips, Hints, and Game Play Strategy are totally worth the effort:

The Bored Man/Woman

Early in your game play you are going to want to keep every single Sim you have available busy with both a career and a hobby - but once you get you town above Level 15 or so you may want to consider setting aside one of your Sims as the Bored Sim.

What that means is they do not have a job OR a hobby. Instead their "job" is to constantly do the Social Point Quests off of the Task Bars as well as the other Task Bar Quests. That way with a designated Sim doing those, you do not interrupt the activities of your established Sims.

This is the ultimate pay-off for the monuments as once you have leveled all four monuments to Level 25 you will get this unlocked and a massive special reward!

Hobby Collections

Obtaining a regular source of LP is a priority for playing this without spending real-world money, and the most reliable method for doing that is to have four Sims take on the Ghost Hunting Hobby, and four Sims take on the Diving Hobby.

You can do others as well, but with that combination of 8 Sims committed to those two hobbies you can complete the respective collections several times each day depending on your play frequency and time. More if you play more.

This is key to building up a reasonable and more important a useful supply of LP.

As for what you spend that LP on, skipping timers is not really up there with the best uses of LP. unless you are doing a special event and you are under the gun. Bear in mind that LP is actually used to purchase some items in the game - including Pets!

As with the jobs when you level up a hobby you get a tangible reward as a result. Which is why leveling to mastery is so important.

Juicing Short Term Tasks

It may not be entirely obvious to you but there are certain short-term tasks that you can do that only take a few seconds but that can result in resource awards as well as money or XP.

For example, admiring the Grandfather Clock in the Snow Center takes just 4s and awards 7XP plus randomly 125 Elemental XP but also random monument resources - so if you are close on one and want to goose it along that is a good way.

The Grandfather Clock has paid off in Bamboo, Granite, Igneous Rock, Onyx, Pick Axe, TV Show Cameo. Basically the earthy items.

You can also do the 4s Admire on a finished painting on an easel

Career Master Jamming

When the game was first released and the careers were first active you had to actually go to work to get a promotion, but at some point they changed it so that you could actually get promoted at home by using the career leveling practice objects.

That being the case you definitely want to master each career as rapidly as you can since that ends up in higher rewards in terms of pay and XP!

Purchase the respective item from the in-game Promotions Store and then place it where your Sim can use it - either in their home or in your courtesy house - and then max their levels in their given careers as fast as you can.

A Word About Time Cheats

They may appear to work at first but the damage that they do to the game timers can end up breaking the game so we do NOT recommend you use cheats in this game. Using the above tips and the basic strategies will get you far better results in the long run. Just saying.
