In Soul Land: Advent of the Gods, you’re able to have a team of up to 5 Spirit Masters at any given time. These characters have different roles to fulfill such as dealing damage, taking hits, and more. Not only do they have such roles, but they need to be placed properly in their formation to excel their task.

Welcome to our Lineup and Position Guide. In this page, we’ll providing you with the basics on what a Linup is, as well as the different positions in the game. The Lineup feature has an interface that will let you set up your heroes in order for you to strategize versus enemies.

What is a Lineup?

When playing the game’s tutorial, you’ll be able to add another member to your team and placing them on your lineup. In other words, your Lineup is your team composition and formation, and you can assign a team to a specific row for battle.

There are three rows available with 3 slots each, making it 9 possible positions total. However, you can only have up to 5 Spirit Masters on a lineup at any given time. Lineup slots have the following guidelines you can follow:

  • Deploy characters with high HP and DEF to front-row to take incoming damage.

  • Deploy characters with high attack power to mid-row to deal damage.

  • Deploy assist or control characters to back-row to support the team

  • Spirit Master Positions

With the different lineup guidelines combined, you’ll then want to know the different positions in the team and their functions. In Soul Land: Advent of the Gods, a position refers to the role of a Spirit Master in terms of their gameplay. There are 5 total Positions, here are their functions as well as their suggested placement for your lineup.

    Position Function Lineup Slot
Tank A defensive character that draws enemy fire, giving others more time to attack. Front Row
Single ATK In charge of taking out the enemy's tank and break their formation, so others can reach the back row sooner. Front Row or Middle Row
Group ATK Powerful group attacks that can reach the enemy's back row ot take them out quickly and secure a victory. Front Row or Middle Row
Assist A support character that heals and places buffs on teammates to enhance their combat prowess. Back Row
Control A control Spirit Master that confuses enemies and stops them from attacking effectively. Back Row

You will notice that Single ATK and Group ATK can be placed on front or middle rows, however this is dependent on the skills of your Spirit Master. For example, Tang Chen is a Group ATK Spirit Master, but they deal their best damage if they lose HP, which means they will need to be placed on the front row.

Make sure to check each of your Spirit Master’s skills before determining which slot they’ll take on your Lineup. This way you will maximize their gameplay benefits and let them perform well with their skills in sync to their location.

    Unlocking more Team Slots

When starting out, you’ll be able to assign your lineup with one team only. More team slots are available for you that you can unlock. A second team slot will be unlocked at level 20, and a third team slot will be unlocked at level 30. You can skip this however by using Diamonds, however we suggest that you just level up instead.

Knowing more about Lineups and Positions will help you with your strategy while playing. Now that you know which roles are needed, you may check out our Tier List to see if there is any Spirit Masters that you’ll find to be able to add to your Lineup.
