Early on Ice Trap. If not unlocked yet, Mutagen, Alien Ally, Nano Shield were all useful to me when I started playing.

Shield, heal, mutagen lol. 0 0 REPORT
Mostly I use shield first, then mutagen then heal.
The ice trap is handy but you have to be close enough to the enemy to catch them in trap. With it being random who is frozen, that is hard to consistently do.
I go with shield first in case the enemy is stronger than they seemed.
