What is the benefit of joining an alliance in White out?

More or less the same as joining any alliance in these kinds of games.
You'll get extra rewards in the game, protection from the alliance, and get alliance related bonuses.
Look for active alliances to join. Some will be hardcore and want you to play all the time, and others more relaxed and casual, find one that fits your playstyle.
