Objectives and obstacles in Strongblade

The puzzle levels in Strongbalde Valley have many different objectives to complete and obstacles to get in your way. In many cases the objective is to clear the a number of pieces and the various obstacle items present on the board. In case you need a reminder of how to deal with each of these and some tips to do so this page will help you with that.

Objectives

The basic objectives in the game are to clear pieces and obstacles from the board but each level will have a range of requirements to complete it that will give a different range of challenges.

Clear colour pieces - basic requirement to clear a set number of certain coloured pieces.

Help the hero reach the exit - clear the pieces on the set path between the hero and the exit door to let him move forward. You can move the hero off of the path to make matches and can move him forward at any time as long as in doing so you make a match.

Get Emeralds - Emeralds are buried in the ground which need to be cleared. Make matches next to the ground areas or use boosters to clear it and get the emeralds. In some cases Emeralds are buried with rocks. These areas need to be hit the twice to collect the emerald.

Find the way out - Another level with a path to follow but it is hidden by grass. Make matches and use boosters to clear grass to find the path to the exit.

Cover the board with fog - Help the hero escape the cat by covering the area with the fog. Match pieces next to areas already with fog, or use boosters, and hit every area of the board. As you do so the fog will spread. Once all the board is covered the level ends.

Find the treasure - Work your way along the set path to the treasure chest and then continue to the finish.

Fireworks - Fireworks appear on the board, and need to be launched to clear them all. They can only be launched by hitting them with boosters, line boosters, bombs or beetles will set them off.

Collect Figurines - Three will be a number of animal figures at the top of the board to collect. Collecting them means to drop them to the bottom of the board where they will fall out. Clear the spaces below them with matches and boosters.

Obstacles

Rocks - match next to them to clear or hit with booster. Rocks are fixed in place on the board.

Ground / Earth - match next to them to clear or hit with booster. Ground pieces fall to fill gaps below.

Crates - Match next to them to open the crate. Crates will have pieces in them. Crates can have more than one level (shown by the boards on the front) so can take more than one match to clear.

Grass - Grass covers the areas and hides paths or tiles to discover. Make matches with pieces on top of the grass to remove it. Grass is fixed in place and can contain multiple levels of grass that need more than one match to clear.

Shells - Match next to them to clear the shell/ You can clear then with boosters as well although the shell will block the line power up from going any further along the row or column than the shell itself. Shells can be swapped to make matches and are not fixed so will fall to fill gaps.

Chains - Chains are used to ad an extra level of difficulty to other obstacles. They can appear on shells for example and will fix them in place, you must match next to the chained item to remove the chain before you can then clear the main item itself.

Ice - Ice works in the same way as the chains above and will freeze a piece in place. Match next to it to break the ice first.
