Can you get Dinosaurs in Stardew Valley?

The Dinosaur Egg is indeed an artifact that you can donate at the Museum. However, it's still an egg which you can actually place in your incubator. If you upgrade your coop, you'll eventually be able to get an incubator to hatch eggs. This includes a Dinosaur! It's better for you to hatch the dinosaur egg that you discover first since they can lay dinosaur eggs. Dinosaur eggs that you get extra can be donated to the museum, hatched for more dinosaurs, or you can turn it into Dinosaur Mayonnaise. Dinosaurs can live in the Big Coop alongside other animals such as Chickens and Ducks.

What are the ways you can get dinosaur eggs?

  • Dig up artifact spots in the Mountains or Quarry: Artifact spots are little worms that you see on the ground. Use your hoe to dig them up, and you have a 0.6% chance to get a dinosaur egg from those areas.
  • Fish up treasure chests: There can be instances where chests will appear when fishing. The chests have a 0.7-0.8% chance to have a Dinosaur Egg inside them.
  • Defeat the Pepper Rex: The Pepper Rex is an enemy that can appear at the Skull Caverns. Defeating this enemy gives you a 10% chance to get a Dinosaur Egg.
  • Prehistoric Floors: The Prehistoric Floors in the Skull Caverns let you forage different items. Dinosaur Eggs can appear here by chance.
  • Dinosaurs: Happy dinosaurs that are mature and well fed in your big coop can lay a Dinosaur Egg every 7 days

Once you have enough Dinosaur Eggs at hand, you can hatch them and even have a full coop of Dinosaurs. Their egg laying time takes a week, and the products you can make from their eggs is limited to Dinosaur Mayonnaise. It's not much for selling due to the long production time, but it's still a cool thing to have on your farm.

There are a lot of other sources where you can get income in Stardew Valley. Maybe checking out the best crops per season can help you with money making as well. We hope this page has helped you in how to find Dinosaur Eggs for your use in Stardew Valley. We'll have more pages available regarding the game, so don't forget to check them out!
