I’m in the Cavern after the admiral threw the sniper gun out of the lighthouse, but there’s no indicator of where to search for the metal object. I’ve tapped where I’m supposed to search but nothing happens?

You need to find the metal eye first. It's in the lighthouse near the open window pane where you can see the mansion
