How to open vents in duct system?

You need to follow the wires back in the opposite direction until you find the point where they are attached to a panel on the wall. You can disconnect the wires by tapping on this panel.

It says to disconnect the wires to the vent. I see the green wires but cannot figure how to disconnect.
