How to beat the car race?

Before the oncoming obstacles appear in the game, there is a small spark of light just above the road that shows where the obstacles will be. Tap left side or right side to move your car to a spot that will be empty. (Safe = where there was no spark of light. )

The car would not respond to my finger touch on my tablet, so I used a stylus pen. The car responded to the stylus pen quickly and accurately.
