I have the pen light, for the dr, but can't pass it to her. What do I do?

I had the same problem. Tried restarting the app - no difference. Tried moving around the room and presenting it to her in various locations on her person, and near her - no difference. So I gave up for a couple hours. Then I rebooted my iPad, and when I went back into the game I was able to give her the penlight on the first try without any problems.
