Leveling Up
Modern Combat 5: Blackout Guide
Modern Combat 5: Blackout uses a leveling system to gate weapons, classes, gun attachments, grenade types, among things. XP is earned by completing missions. Players are also rated according to performance, completing three-star objectives nets more XP. Repeating already three-starred missions will give you very low XP, so no traditional grinding allowed!
XPs also handed by every single kills you score. Headshots, explosive kills, surprise attacks, and killstreaks are all given recognition, and more importantly, XP.
Being accurate is rewarded too. Stay above 50% in accuracy and you are good. Five headshots will give you the 'Marksman' tag. Killing three targets within a two-second timeframe will give you the title 'Sharpshooter'. 'Executioner' is branded to anyone who gets ten kills!
And then there are medals - like 'accurate' (get over 50 percent accuracy), 'marksman' (get five headshots), 'executioner' (get ten kills), and 'sharpshooter' (three kills in two seconds) - for more XP.
Weapons also have their own leveling system. Killing people with these weapons will add ten points to the XP meter. Then as you kill more people, you will be rewarded with attachments like grips, scopes, and extra clips for that weapon. As mentioned, all of the guns are behind a leveling system. So in order to get the advanced weapons per class, you have to use the class and equip the weapon in order to progress through the hierarchy.
