This is their official reason: "These changes have been made to make the Café more fun and less about pressure, as well as providing an additional way to earn League points." The result is that it lowers the energy of really active teams, which hurts the Magic Eye users the most. Players may need to pay real money for energy, too. With enough public outcry, hopefully the developers will be able to increase the rounds of coffee we can gift. Send comments to them at [email protected].

This is what I wrote to WOOGA/ June's Journey:

Our team has members from USA to Israel.  We have two coffee times to accomodate our team due to time differences.  Please change back to the way it was where we can give drinks 2 times or more a day!

Your survey was skewed and left little for comments.

Yes, some teams are high pressure.  Ours is not!  Isn't it the team leaders and members responsibility to create a pleasant atmosphere?  That's why you can leave and find or create your own team.

WOOGA should be in the business of

Agree, survey was unrelated to coffee lounge; competitions twice a week or one lasting 20 hours are more pressure than having fun with the team in the coffee lounge!

Why did they change the lounge?! Don’t like it! Want to have the option to share drinks when it’s a good time. Sometimes you log on and so many teammates are on you want to serve a drink but now you can’t.

I'm an active player! I'm not a ME I have a great team that gets their energy from lounge. If you cater to new players? You will lose dedicated players. Your not great enough for me to spend more money on your greed. Good luck with that,

All about money. Less energy requires you to buy energy in order to be competitive. Wooga will loose players over this change of coffee service.

Ms. Tearius Answered:

From JJ app page: "Hello, Detectives. We recently introduced a series of changes to our Detective Lounge. Since we did not share more information about what led us to this decision alongside the initial announcement, we would like to apologize for that and give you some context about why we decided to implement these changes.

Specifically, the biggest change we introduced yesterday is the limit on how many drinks you can share and consume in the Café. This is a big step on the longer journey of adjustments we had to make upon realizing that a small portion of our players had an unfair advantage in all events (e.g. Raffles, Time-Limited Events, Competitions, Leagues). This small percentage of players accumulated tremendous amounts of Energy through the drinks in the Café, allowing them a chance to play much longer than average and score higher. We believe that it is very important to make sure that everyone who participates in the Detective Lounge has equal chances of achieving greatness with their club, both in club competitions and the upcoming Leagues. Therefore we had to adjust the balancing of the most powerful source of Energy in our game.

So in order to bridge that gap and put an end to the inequality we inadvertently fostered, we introduced the following changes:

1. Drinks now remain active for one hour, instead of 30 minutes.

2. You can only gift one drink per day. This drink is still free.

3. You can earn Energy from up to 15 drinks per day.

4. Each drink you serve and drink will provide League points when a League is active.

5. We've increased the number of Tips you can receive from drinks by 50% so you can spend them more often in the Tip Shop.

6. The Help Wanted tasks asking you to serve more than one drink will occur less frequently.

We understand that changes to your favorite game might be seen as disruptive. We are gamers ourselves and we share your passion. While it may seem like things are more difficult now, we want to reassure you that in the long run, these changes will keep our game sustainable. It is extremely important to us that we create a fun and fair game for all players.

The vast majority of our players (88% of our Daily Active Players) do not share more than one drink per day, so this change is not going to affect their gameplay. It will, however, create more even scoring in competitions because every club will have the same Energy resources to dedicate to winning.

As game designers, we build foundations in our game that must sustain June's Journey for the years to come. We know this is a shock now, but we are compelled to do what is best to ensure the game can be there for you in ten years time or longer. We know this is the right choice for the health of the game, but we are deeply saddened to read your responses to this change.

To our impressively strategic players: we hear you and we understand your initial surprise and frustration. We want to give you the tools to have a great gaming experience. We ask you to have faith in our work, as we are planning to introduce new features that will satisfy your need for competitive gameplay while giving the chance to lower-tier clubs to compete as well.

As for the rest of our players who prefer to casually engage with the Detective Lounge, we have listened to your feedback and we hope that this change will be the beginning of a series of actions from our side toward a fairer, more inclusive, and less stressful experience in June’s Journey.

We would like to sincerely thank you for all the feedback you have been providing us with to improve our game. We truly appreciate the effort and dedication you have shown over the last few years and we hope that these changes will reflect how much we care about creating a fun experience for all."

Makes zero sense. If we give more coffee, it costs us jewels. The cafe can be used by all in the same manner so how is it unfair to teams? You’ve literally ruined this game. It’s doubtful it will sustain for 10 years.

I challenge myself by not buying anything! It’s a game of chance but strategy for me to keep earning flowers, energy and buying for the island. I do not like the cafe change. It limits me in my strategy play! As much as I enjoy JJ I’m considering dropping out. I really wish it would’ve been left alone. Ceecee

This change hurts non club players. Some people don't have the time e for all the club requirements, they just enjoy playing the game. Now it seems when a non club player goes in cafe, every one leaves and numbers drop to zero. This happens all day. that is just wrong. Talk about unfair! I will never upgrade energy again.Thinking about quitting game!!
