Character classes provide players the option to choose what role or gameplay they want to experience. There’s no complex class progression in the game so whatever you choose in the beginning will be your permanent class all throughout the playthrough. In our Character Classes Guide, we will provide a quick overview about the various characters you can play as in this mobile MMORPG title.

Immortal Awakening is an AFK action-RPG from Neocraft Limited where you can just sit back, relax, and watch the game do all the work for you. You can pick your starting character, accept quests, and progress through various tasks at the tap of a button. The game also has auto-pathfinding and auto-battle so you just need to manage your character’s equipment, level, and more.

Character Selection

Immortal Awakening only has four character classes: Barbarian, Mage, Demon Hunter, and Necromancer. They have their individual unique traits which we will discuss further in their individual sections below. You’ll be required to choose the character you want to play as soon as you start the game. There are also four character slots per server so you can create a character for each slot to try them out if you wish to. Take note that characters are tied to servers, not just accounts so if you switched servers or have a different server selected, you may not be able to see your created characters.

After deciding on your class, you can tap on the dice icon beside their name to generate a random name or you can tap on the name itself so you can manually enter a desired name. Next, simply tap “Create Character” to start the game.

There’s really no “best” class to choose from since it all boils down to your preference. Combat is automatic and AFK so skill isn’t going to be an issue. There are some cosmetic factors as well since there are outfits and costumes you can equip to your chosen character. Additionally, there are no ways to change the gender of the chosen character so you won’t find female barbarians or male demon hunters.

Barbarian

This is your standard tank/melee class. In fact, he’s the only tank class in the game. This makes the Barbarian a must-have on certain raid-type/boss-rush dungeons where his top tier health and defenses help protect the other squisher characters. Barbarians have exceptional HP and defenses, as well as great crowd control abilities. The main trade off however is that Barbarians lack exceptional offensive capabilities. This makes sense as a balancing mechanic since you don’t want an overpowered killing machine with exceptional survivability.

The Barbarian is also noob friendly since you don’t have to worry much about survivability. You can easily bolster his defenses with his array of abilities, making him even harder to defeat. The aforementioned low offensive capability on top of low mobility are both glaring weaknesses when facing other players in PvP.

Character Classes

Mage

Mages have meager HP and defense values in exchange for exceptional magical prowess and destructive potential. These spellcasters can inflict devastation on a wide area through a variety of single-target and AoE (area-of-effect) spells. The Mage is an outstanding DPS in PvP and PvE but can be very vulnerable especially when she’s casting her spells. Even if the game has auto/AFK battle, it’s still worth at least having some input like proper positioning or evading at the right time to increase her chances of survival during large battles or just standard PvP encounters.

Character Classes

Demon Hunter

Similar to the Mage, the Demon Hunter is also a pure DPS unit but instead of magic, deals ranged damage to enemies using dual crossbows. On top of being able to deal potent single-target and AoE damage at a respectable range, the Demon Hunter is also quite nimble as she can keep attacking while moving or evading. Similar to the mage, the Demon Hunter isn’t built for tanking damage so ensuring that she keeps herself away from the mob of enemies and dealing damage from a distance is her preferred combat engagement.

Character Classes

Necromancer

The Necromancer specializes in summoning undead minions and spirits to fight for him. These summoned entities can be quite reliable and potent on their own, especially as the Necromancer gets stronger. The game doesn’t have a dedicated support unit so the Necromancer is the closest you can get, thanks to his skill set that gives access to party-wide buffs and multi-target debuffs.
