Last Updated:

Immortal Awakening features auto-battle so you don’t really need to concern yourself with combos, skill chains, and more. However, there are still some aspects of the game that you have to be familiar with, to ensure that you’re getting the most out of your daily gaming sessions. In our Beginner’s Guide, we will provide some newbie-friendly tips so that they can start enjoying the game earlier.

Immortal Awakening is an AFK action-RPG from Neocraft Limited where you can just sit back, relax, and watch the game do all the work for you. You can pick your starting character, accept quests, and progress through various tasks at the tap of a button. The game also has auto-pathfinding and auto-battle so you just need to manage your character’s equipment, level, and more.

Character Class

Once you start the game for the first time, you’ll get to choose which class you want to play as. The gameplay revolves around the single character you’ll create so you’ll just need to focus on managing your chosen hero. Classes are considered equal, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. The game’s combat system is automatic as well so in my opinion, you should choose a class that fits your style or taste. It can be as simple as liking how the character class looks. This is not your usual RPG that has extensive character creation options. You’re also allowed to have multiple characters on the same account so even if you change your mind early, you can always go back to the main menu and create a new character.

Beginner’s Guide

Auto-Battle

As mentioned above, the game’s combat system is fully automatic. There’s still an option to manually input the commands if you wish but the novelty of that will quickly wear off, considering how much combat you have to do daily. Simply tap the AFK button in the lower-right corner of the screen, just beside the combat buttons. There are some instances when the AFK button is not automatically activated like when you exit a dungeon or instance. If you’re in a hostile area, there’s a chance that you won’t immediately notice that your character has returned and is already getting attacked by enemies without fighting back.

Beginner’s Guide

Auto-Pathfinding

Auto-combat aside, the game also offers automatic pathfinding for quests. This means that your character will automatically go to the NPC quest giver, defeat enemies or find the items needed for the quest, and return to the NPC quest giver. You only need to make sure to Claim the rewards or tap the quest that you want to take - the game will do it for you. This feature takes off a lot of load for players - especially when you’re playing the game on mobile. Some players may not be fond of this feature but it won’t hurt taking advantage of this convenient quality-of-life feature.

Try to get to VIP 1

If you’re going to play the game for a while (even if you’re just testing it), consider getting VIP 1 by purchasing any pack as low as $1 USD. VIP 1 has useful benefits but what you’re really after is the “Auto-Buy potions when AFK” and “Auto-Smelt gear obtained when AFK” benefits. The first one ensures that your character doesn’t run out of healing potions while farming dungeons or the open world. The second benefit helps you manage your inventory by automatically smelting non-legendary gear that you obtain. You can manually smelt unwanted gear but you have to regularly do this to prevent your inventory from filling up.

Hero Management

Check your character menu regularly to see which options have new or upgradeable entries. As you unlock new features and dungeons in the game, you’ll be able to collect resources to upgrade, craft, or replace various aspects of your character, ranging from equipment, gems, talismans, and many more. These have a direct effect towards increasing your character’s Combat Power. Combat Power is the representation of your character’s overall combat power. This is affected by several factors like skill levels, equipment upgrade levels and rarity, set mount, set pets, and more. We will cover the various aspects of hero management later in this guide.

Beginner’s Guide

Instances and Dungeons

On top of the open maps, the game has a lot of various dungeons and instances where you can collect various resources from these dungeons that you can use to upgrade your character, equipment, pet, mount, etc. These dungeons have a recommended combat power level so you should use that as a reference whether your character is strong enough to tackle it or not. You can challenge these dungeons alone or with random players via Auto-Matchmaking. For dungeons/instances with strictly multiplayer only restriction, the game will automatically attempt to place you in an open team.

One thing to note is that some dungeons and instances have fixed schedules. You can be locked out of a dungeon for hours, which is going to be a common problem if you’re playing on a different time zone than your registered server. Also, dungeons and instances don’t have tickets but you’ll still be limited by Entry Limits. These entry attempts are automatically refreshed daily at 12:00 AM server time, as part of the game’s scheduled daily content reset.

Beginner’s Guide

As a beginner, it is recommended to try out these dungeons and instances since they’re the source of valuable resources and materials early on. There’s no shame in relying on other players to carry you especially when you’re just starting.

Item Management

If you don’t have VIP 1 or refuse to spend any money in the game, then don’t forget to smelt unwanted gear regularly to prevent your inventory from filling up. Also, by smelting your gear, your smelting artifact will gain exp and eventually rank up, providing you with permanent stat bonuses. You should also consider actively opening chests or gifts that get added to your inventory so you can use their contents in actively upgrading your gear or character instead of just taking up space.

Beginner’s Guide

Pets and Mounts

You’ll encounter several mounts and pets as you go through the game. Pets are creatures that you can deploy to aid you in active combat. A deployed pet will provide 30% of its stat value as a bonus to its owner. Aside from that, you can also have multiple pets set in an array to contribute their stats to your character. These pets can be further improved and promoted to further enhance their stats.

Beginner’s Guide

Mounts are the beasts or creatures that you ride to battle. They don’t aid in combat but will allow you to traverse maps a lot more quicker. Similar to pets, they can be upgraded and improved to enhance their stats and further increase your overall combat power.

Quests and Battle Passes

The game has several daily events or quests that you can complete to gain Activeness Points. As you clear each daily task, you can accumulate AP that can be used to unlock reward chests for every 50 AP you earn, up to 200 AP (or four chests) daily. You can also unlock bonus Weekly Activeness chests after earning 700 AP and 1400 AP for the entire week.

Beginner’s Guide

You can also collect additional rewards by tapping the Bonus button on the top-right corner. From there, you can collect Online Rewards for playing the game for at least 1:30 hours daily. There’s also the Daily Sign-In rewards, and Retrieve Resources option - a very handy feature that allows you to gain some of the resources you’ve missed from the previous day.

Join a Guild

Joining a guild has a lot of benefits, especially if you’re going to play daily. You’ll be able to gain access to Guild-only events, rewards, and quests. You can also obtain buffs from Guild Shrines if you have the right resources. Most guilds are open for application regardless of power so try joining any guild; if ever you decide that you’ll take the game seriously, then you can try looking for more active and serious guilds on your server.

Beginner’s Guide

No need to participate in PvP (immediately)

The game’s PvP feature is not available immediately and rightfully so. Most of the maps you’ll explore alone are safe; however, as you get stronger and unlock more features, you’ll be able to access PvPvE maps where you have to watch out for powerful monsters and enemy players. Treat it as one of the end-game content; and since the game has been out for a while now, expect a lot of catching up to do, especially if you’re aiming to secure a position in the leaderboards.

That’s all the tips that we can share with you. Hop in to the game and familiarize yourself with the game’s many features. And also, please spend responsibly (if you’re going to).
