Every Character has a set of 3 Active and 3 Passive Skills.

The Active Skills are the skills available for use in battle, while the Passive Skills are ones that sit quietly in the background and increase your damage or critical hit ratio. What they do specifically can be accessed from the skills menu in the pullout menu.

Options appear to unlock and upgrade skills for Coins as your character levels up.

The skills can only be upgraded a total of ten times and unless you spend a small fortune in Gems, Skills can only be upgraded every few levels gained.
