Aside from standard and DLC characters, Vampire Survivors also features a roster of secret characters that players can unlock by meeting very specific conditions. These conditions are available in the secret menu though this menu only provides ambiguous tips or hints. In this article, we will list down all secret characters in the game and their unlock conditions.

Unlocking secret characters include defeating specific hidden enemies and finding easter eggs referencing other pop culture franchises. Please refer to our list below for the specific conditions for each secret character.

Exdash Exiviiq

• To unlock this character, you have to quickly type the command x-x1viiq while on the main menu or as a Spell (Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane)
• The normal method of unlocking this character is by simply collecting Little Clovers. Every time you collect a Little Clover, there's a small chance of permanently unlocking this character. The formula is TotalCloversCollected/65535. TotalCloversCollected is the amount of Little Clovers collected by any character within the same save file.

Toastie

• Note : To unlock this character, you need to unlock Exdash first using a Spell. If you unlocked Exdash by collecting Little Clovers, you won't be able to unlock Toastie.
• To unlock Toastie, you have to defeat any of these three enemies: The Stalker (green reaper), The Drowner (blue reaper), or The Trickster (pink reaper). After defeating them, Toastie will appear on the screen briefly. You have to press the Down Arrow + Enter keys (not the "S" key in WASD). If successful, you'll hear a jingle play.
• Alternative Unlocking Method : After getting the relic Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane, you can use the Spell (cheat code) tramezzini after unlocking Exdash.

Smith IV

This character can only be unlocked after unlocking Exdash and Toastie.

To unlock this character follow these steps:

1. In the main menu, type "spam " to start an invisible 30-second timer.
2. Next, go to the character selection screen and type "spam " once again.
3. Go to the stage selection screen then type "spam ".
4. Finally, start a run and type "humbug ".
5. After finishing the run , Smith IV will be playable.

Random

• Unlock this character by opening the coffin in normal stages for the second time.

Boon Marrabbio

Unlocking this character involves several multi-step processes as we will outline below.

1. Obtain the Yellow Sign (check the steps below)
2. Enter the Mad Forest map and remove the Skull O-Maniac and Pummarola stage items. You can do this either by picking them up and discarding them, or leveling them up and maxing them out.
3. If done correctly, Pies (healing items) will appear that will lead you to the specific portion of the map where an enemy will appear. (This enemy will head towards you even if you don't go to its location)
4. Defeat it to hear a jingle indicating that you have unlocked the character.

Avatar Infernas

If you want to unlock this character normally, follow the instructions below:

1. First, unlock the special stage Eudaimonia Machine by collecting all standard Relics from all stages.
2. Next, you have to clear this special stage by defeating the boss (The Directer) and obtaining the Greatest Jubilee weapon.
3. After clearing Eudaimonia M, you have to toggle Inverse Mode in Inlaid Library and start a run in that map.
4. Travel to the far right, past the Gold Ring, until you find the pink reaper called The Trickster in front of a piano. Defeat this enemy and interact with the piano.
5. Press the following keys: D, A, A#, G, C# (2nd white, 6th white, 5th black, 5th white, 1st black)
6. If done correctly, you'll be transported in a dark area with several Undead Heads and Undead Eyes enemies. This area also has nine coffins. You have to find the Avatar in one of these nine coffins (the coffin where he's found is randomized).
7. After opening the coffin containing the Avatar, all enemies will disappear and you'll have to fight him instead.
8. Finally, defeat him to unlock this character in your roster. Your run will be terminated as well by the White Hand.

Minnah Mannarah

1. Obtain the Yellow Sign (see below)
2. Start a run in the Dairy Plant map and obtain the cheese (item) that will appear as a Floor Chicken icon.
3. This is found west from the Armor (item), northwest of the starting area. (This item can also be pulled towards your character with the effect of the Mad Groove (VIII) arcana)
4. After collecting the item, seven werewolves will appear and attack you. Defeat all of them to hear a sound/jingle indicating that you have met the requirements to unlock this character.

Leda

Unlocking this character involves several multi-step processes as we will outline below.

1. Begin a run in Gallo Tower, preferably with a character with high movement speed. You can also apply Hyper Mode before starting the stage to get more movement speed.
2. Once you're in the stage, travel far south until the screen becomes completely dark on the edges. Once the music changes and the letters in the background change to "IAMALIVEHERE", you'll know you're in the right area.
3. Continue heading south while diligently checking out all areas of the floor. Soon enough, you'll finally encounter Leda. She is really slow so take caution not to get past her.
4. Defeat Leda to unlock as a playable character. After defeating her, the screen will become brighter and you'll hear a confirmation jingle play.

Alternative Unlocking Method : After getting the relic Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane, you can use the Spell (cheat code) iwillneverletyouforgetaboutme to unlock this character.

Cosmo Pavone

1. To unlock this character, you must have the Yellow Sign first (refer to the dedicated section below) and also unlock Zi'Assunta Belpaese by opening her coffin.
2. Next, start a run in Capella Magna using a character without any Golden Eggs used on them (Golden Eggs permanently boosts a character's random stat). Take note that toggling the eggs off will not meet the requirement.
3. While in the stage, you must collect the Peachone and Ebony Wings weapons.
4. Next, head further to the north past the Crown and Tiragisu items until you see a balcony with the Nduja Fritta Tanto (pick up item that enables your character to breathe fire temporarily).
5. Collect the Nduja Fritta and Cosmo will appear on the balcony. The gate blocking it will be removed as well. Head there and collect Cosmo to unlock this character.

Alternative Unlocking Method : After getting the relic Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane, you can use the Spell (cheat code) lhovistoio to unlock this character. (First letter is lowercase "L")

Peppino

1. First, you have to unlock the bonus stage Il Molise by unlocking hyper mode on any normal stages.
2. Next, you also need the Celestial Dusting weapon. This is the default weapon of O'Sole, one of the standard characters in the game. Other characters have a small chance of obtaining this weapon as long as you have O'Sole unlocked. Otherwise, you have to buy it from the in-game Merchant for 1000 gold.
3. On the stage Il Molise, hit the plant enemies with Celestial Dusting to heal them instead. After restoring 100,000 HP to the plants, you'll hear a jingle confirming that the character has been unlocked.

Big Trouser

1. First, you need to have the Yellow Sign (please refer to the dedicated section below)
2. Next, the player needs to start a run in Green Acres with the hyper mode, hurry mode enabled.
3. While on the stage, keep heading southwest until the area's surroundings drastically change. After this, several Winged Eye enemies will appear.
4. Defeat 128 of these enemies and MissingNO will be unlocked in the roster.

Alternative Unlocking Method : After getting the relic Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane, you can use the Spell (cheat code) rightninetyseven to unlock this character.

Gains Boros

• In The Bone Zone stage, head north past the Silver Ring pickup item to find a ring of flowers.
• This ring of flowers will heal the character in set intervals every second. Stay in the flower ring for 10 seconds until you hear a sound cue. (The ring will disappear but your character will still receive continuous healing)
• Alternative Unlocking Method : After getting the relic Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane, you can use the Spell (cheat code) highfive to unlock this character.

Gyorunton

• Unlock this character by surviving for 15 minutes in the challenge stage Boss Rash with only one weapon.
• Boss Rash is unlocked by unlocking hyper mode on 5 normal stages.
• It's easier to do this attempt after acquiring the Mindbender relic since you can set the weapon slot on a character before starting a run.
• Alternative Unlocking Method : After getting the relic Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane, you can use the Spell (cheat code) secondevolution to unlock this character.

Mask of the Red Death

• To unlock this character, you have to defeat The Reaper.

Scorej-Oni

1. First, you have to unlock the Tiny Bridge challenge stage by reaching LV80 in Inverse Gallo Tower.
2. Next, start a run in that challenge stage and keep heading to the right until you encounter Scorej-Oni as the stage boss. Defeat it to unlock it as a playable character.
3. Alternative Unlocking Method : After getting the relic Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane, you can use the Spell (cheat code) notsureitsthunder to unlock this character.

How to obtain the Yellow Sign

This relic is required for unlocking the following characters:

• Boon Marrabbio
• Minnah Mannarah
• Cosmo Pavone
• MissingNO

1. The Yellow Sign is a relic that can be found in the hidden stage called Holy Forbidden.
2. First, unlock the Holy Forbidden hidden stage by surviving for 14 minutes in the Moongolow stage using any standard character (except for Sir Ambrojoe, Divano, Gallo, or Zi' Assunta). You also need to defeat a special angel-like boss called Trinacria.
3. Once in the Holy Forbidden map, follow the green arrow which will point you towards the location of this relic.
4. After obtaining the relic, the Holy Forbidden map will no longer be accessible using conventional means.
