I’m usually leading by several hundred points or more and the player under me suddenly catches up in one move. How does that happen? What am I missing?

Same problem here.

I personally think that some of the players are bots, and placed so that you will play more levels to keep your standing.

I've finished first every week in the Legend League for over a month, but suddenly two players pop up and seem to ALWAYS have me by 200~400 points...

Definitely bots, you try to overtake the next level and every time you gain, they gain. When you stop playing, they stop gaining points. Wait a few minutes, play again and they start gaining again.

There are players from different time zones around the world. Your 1a.m. might be their lunch break.
