The Vault: Logic Puzzle Box Cheats and Tips
The Vault: Logic Puzzle Box is a 3D safe-breaker puzzle game from Peaksel Games, the Serbian studio behind escape titles like Escape from Mental Hospital and Escape from Prison. You play alongside two researchers, Nathan Reed and Zoe Vega, on a mission to Mars, cracking open a series of strange alien safes to uncover the planet's secrets and collect its artifacts. Each level is a self-contained puzzle box, and the tips below cover how to approach them.
The early safes ease you in, but the puzzles get trickier as you go, mixing rotating dials, hidden panels, pull handles and collectible items into single boxes. These tips are about working through any safe methodically, so you spend less time stuck and more time opening the next one.
Inspect every side of the safe
Drag to rotate each safe fully before you start poking at it. Openings, switches and clues are often tucked on the sides, the back or underneath, not just on the face you start on. In the very first level, the wire cutters you need are hidden in a small opening on the side of the box.
Get into the habit of spinning the safe right around at the start of every level so nothing catches you out later.
Pick up everything and check your inventory
Anything you can collect goes into your inventory for a reason. A tool or item you find on one part of the safe is almost always used somewhere else on it, like the wire cutters that get dragged onto the wires to open the tutorial box.
If you're stuck, look back at what you're carrying and ask where each item might fit.
Hunt for clues, symbols and patterns
This is a logic puzzle at heart, so the answer is usually written somewhere on the box. Watch for numbers, coloured markings, shapes or symbols that line up with dials, buttons or sequences elsewhere on the safe.
When a code or combination won't budge, the clue you need is generally hiding in plain sight on another panel.
Try the interactive parts
Safes are built from moving pieces, so manipulate them directly. Press buttons, pull handles, slide panels and turn dials to see what reacts. Some mechanisms only reveal their purpose once you've triggered something else first, so experimenting is part of solving each box.
Use the in-game hints when you're stuck
Each safe has a hint option that nudges you toward the next step, and there's a skip available too. The hint resource refreshes over time, so you're not locked out permanently if you lean on it. It's there to keep you moving, so use it rather than giving up on a level.
Check the AppGamer walkthrough for tough levels
If a particular safe has you completely stumped, our step-by-step walkthrough guide for The Vault: Logic Puzzle Box covers the levels one by one. It's handy for those puzzles where a single missed step blocks the whole box.
Work at your own pace
These puzzles reward patience over speed. If you rush, it's easy to overlook a clue or skip past an interactive piece, so slow down and study each safe before committing to a combination. Coming back to a stubborn level with fresh eyes often does the trick.
Play it offline anywhere
The Vault runs offline, so you can keep cracking safes on a flight or commute with no connection. It's a good one to dip into for a few levels at a time wherever you are.
Switch off the story if you only want puzzles
The Mars storyline gives the game its hook, but if you'd rather focus purely on the safes, there's an option to turn the narrative off. Worth a look if you just want to get straight to solving.
Collect the artifacts as you go
Every safe you open rewards you with an artifact tied to Mars' history, and completing the collection is the long-term goal. Treat each unlocked box as one more piece of the bigger puzzle and aim to clear them all.
Summary
Rotate every safe to scan all sides, collect and reuse the items you find, and read the clues on the box before settling on a combination. Hints and our walkthrough are there for the tricky ones, so take your time and enjoy working through the mysteries of Mars.
