The OutCats' Demand To Be Added in The Battle Cats Are Met - Sort of
The OutCats have achieved a partial victory in their high-risk stand-off with The Battle Cats developer PONOS Corporation.
Writing in a November 24th statement, PONOS Corporation explained the settlement in full, revealing that The OutCats have (sort of) succeeded in securing their ransom demand.
Last week, PONOS Corporation announced that it had fallen victim to a sophisticated heist and cyberattack.
A gang calling itself The OutCats had stolen 100 million cans of Cat Food from the company's warehouse, hacked its social media channels, and published a ransom video.
While keeping their identities secret, the OutCats revealed that all three of their members had been rejected by The Battle Cats in 2014.
Their sole ransom demand was to be added to the game's roster, and they threatened to give away 999 cans of Cat Food to every player logging in to The Battle Cats until this demand was met.
Following talks, PONOS Corporation has identified the three members of The OutCats as Sick Cat, Trash Cat, and Stealth Cat.
The company has agreed to allow just one of these Cats to join The Battle Cats roster in spring 2024. The winner will be decided in a public vote this week, with polls closing on December 3rd.
To allow voters to make an informed decision about which of these low quality Cats they will ultimately be forced to put up with, PONOS has released the old audition tapes for all three of the candidates. You can watch all three on the studio's YouTube channel now.
In addition, the OutCats are encouraging participation in this criminally engineered election with a lottery. Nine lucky voters will each receive 9,999 cans of Cat Food from what remains of the gang's booty.
All you need to do to take part is open up The Battle Cats and purchase a Rare Cat Ticket to vote for one of the three candidates. You can download The Battle Cats on Android and iOS.
