Taichi Panda Guide

This list is a compilation of helpful hints for players just starting out.

  • All of the characters are essentially the same. The Treasure Hunter (girl character) does have an awesome twirling knife attack that knocks a hoard back, Tai Chi Panda is a close-up fighter with a neat wide radius ground smashing attack, and the Glorious Warrior gets a bit more distance from the action with his long sword attacks.
  • Smashing Crates and Vases can give you a few extra piles of Gold, but be quick. Your star rating is based on how quickly you complete the entire level and not just defeat the end boss. Most levels must be completed within two minutes for a perfect three star rating.
  • The second meter bar under the boss's main health bar decreases as your character hits him with your **normal fighting technique**. When the orange bar runs out, the boss can't attack for a few seconds until the meter refills. This meter is also present on both players during arena battles and using it effectively can help decide a close battle.
  • If you happen upon some extra Champion Armor (the Quality 26 variety) or Orange Armor (the Quality 22 variety), save it!! An extra equipment slot unlocks (Belt) after level 21 and you are able to reap the benefits of awesome gear without wishing you could wear two pairs of boots.
  • Equipment upgrading is unlocked from the beginning. Keep upgrading as much as your level will allow.
  • Purple and Orange weapons can be "smelted" at the "Market" (the icon of a breastplate next to a stack of gold coins). Smelting weapons will give you 20 Crystals, Gold and Siderite. Purple or Orange weapons previously upgraded need to be "Reforged" before they can be smelted. This process yields Crystals, Gold, Siderite, and Refinement Stones, but costs 20 Diamonds.
  • Don't sell anything! The price you collect for directly selling equipment is depressingly low. If you are out of money, there are several ways to make more. Check out the Easy Money tab at the left for explicit instructions.
  • Keep upgrading your pets and your special skills. Everytime you gain a level, which is pretty easy in the beginning, go through and upgrade all eligible skills, pets and weapons. Keeping everything even will save you money woes in the future.
  • The Pickpocket menu is one that a lot of people completely forget about with everything else going on in-game, but in just about every level you go into you pick up shards of something. Sometimes these are weapons or armor, but often they are siderite or rune shards. Under the pickpocket tab, you can Synthesize runes, core runes, siderite and refinement stones from the fragments you've looted along the way and do a bit of plundering if you are a piece or two short...
  • ** CHECK EDIT BELOW**You cannot change what your character looks like. I'm sorry...

Snail Games has released a line of "outfits" that not only allow character customization, they also add some awesome stat boosts.
