What to do with a Wooden Board and Cloth?
RAFT: Original Survival Game Guide
Thatch
Thatch are bundles of grass and straw that float around in the sea. It is used a lot in early-game crafting like Thatch Foundation and cooking fish for you to eat. It is important to get a lot of this early in the game since essentially, they prolong your life on the waters (attacks on your raft may break the relative raft section.
Raft Original Survival Tip: If you or any structure / station is standing on that spot, it gets destroyed as well while you fall in the water, leaving yourself defenseless from the shark until you climb back up. So having a wider raft area will probably save your life and structures.
Log
Logs are also commonly found floating on the water. Logs are also important for crafting. Most notably for crafting Coal that is used a lot in other recipes.
It is also used alongside wooden boards for an important structure, the wooden foundation.
Wooden Board
The wooden board is another material that is most notably found floating on the water and sometimes when you go to some small islands. It is also a very important material since it is used alongside logs to craft the wooden foundation which is tougher than the thatch foundation. Later in the game, it is used to create Treated Boards for the more sophisticated items.
Cloth
Cloth is also commonly found floating in the ocean although a bit difficult to spot due to its flat-floating nature. It is just a white patch floating on the water. Another place to commonly find them is after killing infected, they have a relatively high chance of dropping cloth (probably from the clothes they were wearing).
Raft Original Survival Tip: Cloth doesn't have much use early game but it is still a good idea to save it for when you get the Loom and Crafting Table. If you also find yourself hurting a lot due to combat, they can also be used to craft Bandages.
