Combat

The combat in the game is really basic and simply consists mainly of stabbing enemies with the spear or if, strangely enough, you decide to use the axe, then whacking them. You will start with the Wooden Spear and upgrade to the Metal Spear later on.

There is also no hit location variation at the time of writing. That means even if you hit enemies in the head, it does the same damage if you hit them anywhere else on the body. So to increase your chances of hitting, just go to for the torso as it is the largest area to hit.

Raft original survival tip: A good strategy when fighting the infected with the spear, is go near them, stab them twice, then move back. Rinse and repeat until they die. There are currently only two types of infected. A normal Zombie and a Zombie Commander who has more HP and seems to do more damage than a regular zombie. However their AI are similar and the stab stab retreat strategy seems to work with them both.

During the whole time of combat, you will come face-to-face with the Shark. This shark is a constant annoyance for your raft. It will keep making circles around your raft and randomly attack a section of your raft. If it damages it enough, it destroys the "tile" it was attacking. If anything was on the tile, it will get destroyed and you lose it for good. If you also fall off the raft by accident or intentional, the shark will attack you. Just move towards the raft to return to safety.
