How to play the Fields

The fields are where you get the crops, vegetables, and animals. As already stated in the review, you match at least three of the same tiles and connect them to form a long chain. The longer the chain the greater the amount of the raw materials you get. There is no time limit for the puzzle section so feel free to strategize as long as you can endure.

However, there is a limit on how many moves you can use per harvest. You can only harvest in the fields for 1 in-game year. This is shown in the upper part of the screen right on top of the field. Images are drawn there, signifying spring then summer then autumn and into the winter. You can also notice this on the fields itself with the trees and the weeds having qualities reflecting the current season (leaves turn to yellow in autumn, traces of snow on the branches during the winter, etc. etc. ).

How you go about in harvesting the crops depends largely on your current objectives. Are you trying to complete a quest? Is this for a challenge? Are you eyeing for an upgrade?

Usually, I would say go for that objective, but for this game, I will not. Simply because of the sole reason that all of the raw materials in this game is necessary whether you need it now or way later. You will still need them "now" because of circumstances like surprise discoveries that needs resources for unlocks, unanticipated new buildings, and recipes for tools.

When chaining up raw materials make sure that it is the longest you can muster EXCEPT when there are instances that you need one more extra tile to produce an extra bonus tile. Make sure you can get the extra tile, chain another raw materials to pull the needed extra tile before gunning for that long chain. It is very inefficient not to trigger another bonus tile when it is just a tile away to get it, most especially, when you are already holding in a long chain.
