I don't understand this, "pick up 250 in a visit", how can I "visit"??

A "visit" is the time you spend for one session of farming, mining, or being on the sea. So if you have to collect 250 wheat, you would need to use have extra days farming and/or use tools. Usually I see 250 on the quests with just a puzzle piece, which is a wildcard - you can collect different things or anything during the session, and it counts to the total.
