Galactic Treasures is a new space themed digging based mini game playable on Monopoly Go from 8AM ET on February 23rd until 3PM ET on the 27th February. As with similar treasure hunt events you need to get pickaxes from solo events, tournaments, free shop gifts and quick wins in order to use them to discover hidden Galactic Treasures. Find all the treasures in a level to complete it, get that milestone reward and move onto the next level.

How to Win Galactic Treasures

To win all of the Galactic Treasures, you'll need to work your way through all the levels in this mini game. There are a number of different treasures to be found on each level, all of the objects are different sizes so take a look at what you need to find at the start of each level as a guide to where to make your digging guesses.

The smallest objects are the hardest to find, especially the 1x1 items as they could literally be anywhere.

How to Get More Laser Guns

There are a number of ways to get free Laser Guns, here's everything you need to know abut how to find the tools you need to keep digging in Galactic Treasures.

• Tournaments and Events

  Tournaments and events that are active at the same time as Galactic Treasures will have some Laser Guns in their milestone rewards, check out our All Events Explained page to find out which events are currently running to get their milestone list the exact locations of pickaxes.

• Quick Wins

  While Galactic Treasures is running, the Quick Wins tab at the bottom of the game will have tasks where the reward will sometimes be free Laser Guns. This is a really easy way to get free pickaxes.

• Shop Gift

  The easiest way to get free Laser Guns is to check for your shop gift every 8 hours. To do this tap on the three lines at the top of the game screen, then tap shop, then swipe that top block to the right until you get to the last page. That is where you get your free shop gift every 8 hours. While this event is running you may find pickaxes there as part of the gift pack.

How to Find the Items in Galactic Treasures

This event is very similar to the popular Battleships game played around the world for years. But in this event there are hidden objects in the sand instead of boats on the sea, but the concept is the same.

So bearing that in mind, look at the size of the objects that you need to find for the level that you are on and make your guesses accordingly.

For example, if you are looking for the 4x1 object, then select squares that give you the maximize chances of finding something. So in this case you can make guesses that are four squares apart.

When you are initially starting a new board in Galactic Treasures, use a checkerboard formation to guess, so don't move across one square at a time, skip them as if you were aiming just for one color on a checkerboard. This is generally more efficient.

While each player will get given their objects in different locations, knowing what the objects you need to find, and the size of the game board can be helpful in determining how many laser guns you'll roughly need to complete a level. Here is a screenshot of level 20, for which you'll need at least 32 laser guns to complete because it contains six 2x2 objects and two 4x1 objects.

Are Galactic Treasure Locations Random?

Yes, they do seem to be. The locations of items in Galactic Treasures is not the same for everyone, so no treasure map can be created.

That just about wraps up everything we know about Galactic Treasures, if you want to complete this event, you'll need to get most of the Laser Guns from all of the events and tournaments that are running at the same time as Galactic Treasures and also to complete all Quick Wins and collect those 8 hourly free shop gifts in order to have enough pickaxes to complete the whole event.

There will be multiple events and tournaments running at the same time as Galactic Treasures, so do pace yourself if you have a limited number of dice.
