Monkey King: Arena of Heroes has a lot of heroes from different rarities, and they have unique roles. Tier List Reminders
When playing through Monkey King: Arena of Heroes, the characters that you can acquire will have skills that they’ll automatically use in battle. As they charge up their gauge, they can use unique skills that are accompanied with an animated cutscene. The heroes that you can acquire also come in different rarities such as Legendary, Epic, Rare, etc. In this game, focusing on Legendary heroes will provide you with the best potential, but there are also some Epic heroes that can provide you with some functional use. Learning more about each hero will really help you out with team building.
For this list, we’ll be providing you with character overviews for Tank heroes. As a reminder, please take note that tier lists are not strict rules that you must follow, they only serve as a guide for you in order to create your own team. At the end of the day, it’s your game, and you have control over the choices that you wish to have when playing. If you have favorite characters, then go ahead and have fun with them!
You can deploy up to 6 heroes in battle, so having a team composed of balanced roles will really help with the outcome of battle. As you level up your account, you will be unlocking more features that can include the usage of your teams. Knowing more about their strengths can really help you out!

About Skills
In Monkey King: Arena of Heroes, characters that you deploy on your team can have benefits when they have members of the same faction. Your characters have neutral attacks, special attacks, as well as linked skills that can only activate if you have specific hero combinations together. You can check more about linked skills by looking at the hero handbook in the game’s menu. Skills are used automatically in battle, therefore your main goal is to have a good team composition, and let the battle commence.
Even if each Hero has their specific roles such as DPS, Control, Support, Healing, and Tank, their individual skills will still determine their overall gameplay. Learning about their skills in battle will help you understand which team combinations will make them stronger. Aside from leveling up, you will still need other methods to become stronger such as providing them with breakthroughs and armaments.

S Rank Heroes
Here’s the list of Heroes that have made it to our S tier. Take note that our list provides heroes grouped by faction order only, they are not ordered in terms of who’s the strongest to the weakest.
WANDERERS
Features: Fight separately
The Wanderers deal Magical damage, and they can hit the front-row enemies as well. Once they release their skill for the first time, the wanderers will split up and attack individually. They have a chance to summon daylight wanderer to the front which can help in tanking. Their link partner is Goddess Lishan, and fighting alongside her increases their HP, and they can also acquire shields at the start of battle.
GODDESS LISHAN
Features: Reflect DMG
Goddess Lishan deals Magical damage, and she can deal high damage to a single enemy as well as gaining a shield at the same time. She has a skill where if she’s attacked, she can convert the damage into a shield which will make her more tankier. Her link partners are the Wanderers, and fighting alongside them increases her ATK. Whenever her HP drops below a certain percentage, she can acquire a shield as well.
DRAGON KING
Features: Multiple summons
Dragon King can deal Magical damage, as well as dealing high attack versus a column of enemies. This summons a soldier to the front of the battle and they can take damage instead. He has a skill where if his HP drops below a certain percentage, he can summon the Prime Minister Tortoise to the front in order to tank. This tortoise will attack and deal damage to the front-row enemies as well. His link partner is Pagoda Lord and fighting alongside him increases his HP. He also has a chance to summon a soldier at the front after each turn.

WHITE DRAGON
Features: High Damage Reduction
White Dragon can deal physical damage to an enemy as well as a column of enemies while gaining DMG reduction for 2 turns. Whenever he’s attacked, he has a high chance to use a skill once to deal weaker damage with no rage cost. His link partner is Sha Wujing, and fighting alongside him increases his HP, and he can also gain 1 combo point at the start of battle.
JADE RABBIT
Features: Balanced
Jade Rabbit can deal physical damage to an enemy, and deal front-row damage as well. Her DMG is increased if she attacks male targets. She has a skill where if she is attacked, she increases her DMG reduction for each combo point that you have. Her link partner is Empress of Ladyland, and fighting alongside her increases her DMG reduction. At the start of battle, she can also randomly gain 1-3 combo points.
HUNDRED EYES
Features: Area Attack
Hundred Eyes can deal Magical DMG as well as hit a column of enemies which restores his HP. He has a skill where if he receives fatal DMG for the first time, he’ll enter the “Never Fall” state which restores his HP for 2 turns. If his HP isn’t fully healed by the time the state wears off, he will be defeated. But if his HP is healed fully, he can continue in battle therefore it’s best to have good healers on the team. His link partner is Thousand Hands, and fighting alongside her lets him increase his Def. If He’s attacked the first time in battle, he gets to restore his HP as well.
WHITE GUARD
Features: Survives poison
White Guard can deal Magical DMG to an enemy, as well as deal damage to the front row with a high chance to poison for 2 turns. She has a skill when she’s attacked, she has a high chance of restoring HP and it can trigger up to 3 times each round which makes her more tankier. Her link partner is Black Guard, and fighting alongside him increases her DEF. If Black Guard releases a skill for the first time, White guard’s DMG will increase for the entire battle.
AZURE BULL
Features: High Block
Azure Bull can deal Physical DMG as well as hitting a column of enemies which increases his Block Rate for 2 turns. He has a skill where if he’s attacked, he has a high chance to inflict burn on the attacker for 2 turns.This will damage them at the start of a turn which can help out with clearing enemies. His link partner is Red Boy, and fighting alongside him increases his HP. Also, his first attack deals indirect DMG based on his own HP as well making him an offensive tank.

BONE GENERAL
Features: Physical Damage Reduction
Bone General can deal Physical DMG to an enemy as well as high damage to a single target. Providing him with breakthroughs lets him inflict poison by chance when attacking, he can also increase his Physical DMG reduction if he’s attacked. His talisman lets him restore 2 rage points after releasing a skill.
AZURE LION
Features: Damage Reduction and single-target control
Azure Lion can deal Physical DMG to an enemy as well as high damage to a single target. Providing him with breakthroughs lets him stun enemies at a high chance when using a skill. If he gets hit with magic damage, he can also increase his own DMG reduction. His talisman lets him deal an additional normal attack after using a regular skill.
