Monkey King: Arena of Heroes has a lot of heroes from different rarities, and they have unique roles. Tier List Reminders
When playing through Monkey King: Arena of Heroes, the characters that you can acquire will have skills that they’ll automatically use in battle. As they charge up their gauge, they can use unique skills that are accompanied with an animated cutscene. The heroes that you can acquire also come in different rarities such as Legendary, Epic, Rare, etc. In this game, focusing on Legendary heroes will provide you with the best potential, but there are also some Epic heroes that can provide you with some functional use. Learning more about each hero will really help you out with team building.
For this list, we’ll be providing you with character overviews for Control heroes. As a reminder, please take note that tier lists are not strict rules that you must follow, they only serve as a guide for you in order to create your own team. At the end of the day, it’s your game, and you have control over the choices that you wish to have when playing. If you have favorite characters, then go ahead and have fun with them!
You can deploy up to 6 heroes in battle, so having a team composed of balanced roles will really help with the outcome of battle. As you level up your account, you will be unlocking more features that can include the usage of your teams. Knowing more about their strengths can really help you out!

About Skills
In Monkey King: Arena of Heroes, characters that you deploy on your team can have benefits when they have members of the same faction. Your characters have neutral attacks, special attacks, as well as linked skills that can only activate if you have specific hero combinations together. You can check more about linked skills by looking at the hero handbook in the game’s menu. Skills are used automatically in battle, therefore your main goal is to have a good team composition, and let the battle commence.
Even if each Hero has their specific roles such as DPS, Control, Support, Healing, and Tank, their individual skills will still determine their overall gameplay. Learning about their skills in battle will help you understand which team combinations will make them stronger. Aside from leveling up, you will still need other methods to become stronger such as providing them with breakthroughs and armaments.

THE EMPEROR
Features: Area Control
The Emperor can deal Magical damage to enemies, as well as target the front row. In doing so, he has a high chance to stun targets which prevents them from moving which is useful for your team’s survival. He also has a skill where the first skill used on each round has a chance to stun a target as well. His link partner is the Empress, and fighting alongside her provides him with DMG reduction as well as receiving shield for the first time the Emperor restores 1 rage.
GUANYIN
Features: Area Rage decreasing
Guanyin deals Magical damage to an enemy, and she can target all enemies as well with a chance to reduce her target’s rage by 1 point. She has a skill where she can consume all rage, which can increase the DMG of her skill depending on how much rage was consumed. Her link partner is Tang Monk, and fighting together lets her increase her ATK, she can also have increased DMG if she has full HP.

S Rank Heroes

PAGODA LORD
Features: Single-target hard control
Pagoda Lord deals Physical damage to enemies, he can also deal high damage to a single target as well as inflict Penalty I on the target for 2 turns. When he is attacked, he can have a chance to apply stun to the enemy who attacked him once per round which is good for control. His link partner is the Dragon King, and fighting alongside together increases his DMG Reduction, and he can start the battle with a Shield buff.
EMPRESS OF LADYLAND
Features: Survives confusion
Empress of Ladyland can deal Physical damage to back row enemies. She can also deal high damage to a target at the back row, and has a high chance to apply Confused I for 1 turn. She has a skill that has a high chance of applying Confuse 2 to an enemy of the opposite gender. If an opponent is confused, they can attack their teammate with a normal attack. Her link partner is Jade Rabbit, and fighting alongside her lets her increase her DMG reduction, and she can restore her HP at the end of each turn.
BLACK GUARD
Features: Health exchange and strong control
Black Guard can deal physical damage, as well as high damage to a single target. This lets him inflict Confine I to the target for 2 turns. He has a skill where if he is attacked, he can inflict back DMG dealt to him on an enemy in the same position as indirect DMG. His link partner is White Guard, and fighting on the same team lets him increase his DEF. He can also increase White Guard’s DMG Reduction if he releases a skill for the first time.
GOLDEN HORN
Features: Single-target control
Golden Horn deals Magical DMG to an enemy, and he can deal high DMG to a single target as well as inflicting Banished I for 2 turns. He has a skill where the first Skill used in a battle has a chance to apply Banish II for 2 turns, this prevents them from taking action. His link partner is Silver Horn, and fighting alongside him increases his DMG reduction. If Golden Horn’s HP drops below a certain percentage for the first time, he can restore a percentage of his HP which helps his survival.

CELESTIAL HOUND
Features: Decrease Rage and Attack
Celestial Hound deals Physical damage to enemies, he can also deal high damage to a column. Providing him with Breakthrough lets him decrease his enemy’s rage, as well as DMG. He can also increase his own Rage point as he becomes stronger. His talisman lets him restore 1 Rage point after releasing a normal attack.
XINGCHI
Features: Stuns the target when stealing Health
Xingchi deals Magical damage to enemies and he can deal high damage to a single target. Providing him with Breakthrough lets him stun his targets whenever he deals damage, and maxing this out lets him stun at a 100% chance. He can also restore rage points if stunning targets with his talisman.
SILK LADY
Features: Dead Whisper debuff
Silk Lady can deal Magical damage to an enemy, and she can use high damage on an enemy column. Her link partner is Drowned Lady, and fighting alongside her increases her ATK, and she can launch an additional normal attack if she releases a skill. Providing her with Breakthrough lets her increase her DMG Reduction, as well as her DMG. Her Talisman lets her reduce all enemies’ DMG if she is defeated.
LORD CUI
Features: Increases damage when poisoned
Lord Cui deals Magic Damage, and he can deal damage to all front-row enemies. Providing him with Breakthrough lets him inflict Poison on targets whenever he releases his skill. He can also increase the DMG taken by the target who was inflicted by Poison. His talisman lets him restore 1 rage point whenever he inflicts poison.
