Tier List Reminders

When playing through Monkey King: Arena of Heroes, the characters that you can acquire will have skills that they’ll automatically use in battle. As they charge up their gauge, they can use unique skills that are accompanied with an animated cutscene. The heroes that you can acquire also come in different rarities such as Legendary, Epic, Rare, etc. In this game, focusing on Legendary heroes will provide you with the best potential, but there are also some Epic heroes that can provide you with some functional use. Learning more about each hero will really help you out with team building.

For this list, we’ll be providing you with character overviews for DPS heroes. As a reminder, please take note that tier lists are not strict rules that you must follow, they only serve as a guide for you in order to create your own team. At the end of the day, it’s your game, and you have control over the choices that you wish to have when playing. If you have favorite characters, then go ahead and have fun with them!

You can deploy up to 6 heroes in battle, so having a team composed of balanced roles will really help with the outcome of battle. As you level up your account, you will be unlocking more features that can include the usage of your teams. Knowing more about their strengths can really help you out!

About Skills

In Monkey King: Arena of Heroes, characters that you deploy on your team can have benefits when they have members of the same faction. Your characters have neutral attacks, special attacks, as well as linked skills that can only activate if you have specific hero combinations together. You can check more about linked skills by looking at the hero handbook in the game’s menu. Skills are used automatically in battle, therefore your main goal is to have a good team composition, and let the battle commence.

Even if each Hero has their specific roles such as DPS, Control, Support, Healing, and Tank, their individual skills will still determine their overall gameplay. Learning about their skills in battle will help you understand which team combinations will make them stronger. Aside from leveling up, you will still need other methods to become stronger such as providing them with breakthroughs and armaments.

LORD ERLANG

Features: Growing power in battle

Lord Erlang deals strong physical damage, he’s able to deal physical damage to a column of enemies which will let him stack buffs called Illustrious Sage. The buffs enable him to increase his damage further, therefore he becomes stronger as time passes in battle. His link partner is Chang’e, and having them together will let him get more damage, as well as providing Chang’e with the Illustrious Sage buff which helps in damage output.

SUN WUKONG

Features: Burst damage in the first turn.

Sun Wukong is a physical damage dealer that can provide high damage against a column of enemies. In doing so, he can increase his Crit Rate and Crit DMG, as well as restoring 1 combo. His link partner is Pigsy, and fighting together with him provides increased damage, as well as triggering revenge if ever Pigsy is defeated. He can also gain a DMG bonus as well as DMG reduction at the first 2 rounds of each battle which helps in his DPS role as well as survival.

YAMA

TAIBAI

Features: Strong Burst

Taibai deals Magical damage to the enemy, his spells can hit the front row enemies, and he can enter the Venus Enlightenment state until the turn ends. This will increase his Crit Rate and Crit DMG which will provide him with burst damage. His link partner is the Matchmaker, and letting them fight together lets him increase his ATK. He can also heal himself and the Matchmaker whenever he lands a critical hit, which will increase his survivability.

PILANPO

Features: Multi-cast Combo

Maitreya deals physical damage, and she can deal attacks to the front row enemies which can also restore her combo point. She has a skill that can increase her combo point to 5, and she can increase her Crit Rate for every 3 normal attacks or combos she is able to perform. Her link partner is Maitreya, and fighting together lets her increase her Crit Rate further, she can also reduce the opponent’s defense for each attack.

THOUSAND HANDS

Features: Continuous summoning

Thousand Hands is a physical damage dealer, and she can target back row enemies. She can summon a Poisonous spider at the front which can deal damage to the back row. Not only that, but the spiders can take hits from enemies instead of your heroes. Her link partner is Hundred Eyes, and fighting together lets her increase her attack, as well as increasing her chance to summon spiders in order to deal damage to the back row. She can only summon 1 spider each round as well.

EQUINOX FLOWER

Features: Endless Summoning

Equinox Flower deals magic damage to enemies, and she can deal her attacks in a single column. In doing so, she can reduce her target’s rage by 1 point. She has a skill that lets her summon Asura, who will stay hidden in the void for an opportunity to attack. Asura deals magic damage to all enemies. Her link partner is River of Oblivion, and fighting together lets her increase her ATK and reduce the rage point of enemies further.

RIVER OF OBLIVION

Features: Great poison damage

River of Oblivion deals magic damage to enemies and she can hit targets that are in a column. This lets her have a chance to inflict Poison to targets for 2 turns. When starting the battle, she can enter the Ferrying the Dead state which increases her ATK at the first turn, which slowly weakens per turn after. Her link partner is Equinox Flower and fighting together lets her increase her ATK, as well as reduce the Rage of all poisoned targets.

SILVER HORN

Features: Finishing burst

Silver Horn deals magic damage to enemies, and he can target enemies at the front row in order to damage all of them. He has a skill called raging flame, which lets him deal indirect DMG based on his ATK to all enemies once each round. His link partner is Golden Horn, and fighting together lets him increase his DMG. If Silver Horn’s HP goes below a certain percentage, he can restore his HP.

SPIKE SCORPION

Features: Excels at both poison and fire

Spike Scorpion is a physical damage dealer, able to attack adjacent enemies. In doing so, she has a very high chance to poison the target for 2 turns. She has a skill where any enemy who is hurt by poison or burn can heal her in exchange. If her HP is full, she can restore rage instead. Her link partner is Jade Vixen, and fighting together lets her increase her Atk, as well as having increased Poison and Burn damage.
