What is the spoon for and how is it used?

So the only use so far that I have found for the spoons is to smash the boxes that the mice are in (or an empty box that the mice can move to). Again, that’s all I have used it for since I don’t pay to play and so I haven’t tried it on books or anything else really- although to use it in a regular game I’m guessing that it would just smash whatever piece you use it on... (again that’s unconfirmed though since, as I said, I haven’t tried it)
