How to use the broom and glove booster?

Thr broom will sweep away an item. I’ve tried to use the glove to no avail. But at least since not actually used I still have the ones I’ve bern given so it doesn’t lower your amount if not used correctly

The glove swaps two pieces - if you select the glove and touch a piece on the board it lights up the ones next to it - if you swipe a puece they swap places.
