Sunset Treasures is a 'dig for treasure' event on Monopoly Go that returns at 1 PM ET on August 6th, 2025 and runs for just over four days until 4 PM ET on August 10th.
While this event is active you need to collect pickaxes, we tell you exactly how further down the page, and then use them in the Sunset Treasures event to find all of the artifacts on the 20 levels.
In this event there are many prizes to claim including dice, various sticker packs, a Sandcastle shield skin and a wild sticker.

How to Play Sunset Treasures
Collect piackaxes from solo events, tournaments, quick wins and shop gifts and then use those pickaxes to uncover the treasure on each level.
In each level there are hidden a number of treasures, above the game board you can see the objects that need to be found, each object occupies a certain number of tiles on the game board and can be orientated either horizontally or vertically. You'll need to spend your pickaxes wisely in order to make good guesses based on what needs to be found.
Unless you are looking for items that are 1x1 it's best to spread out your guesses based on the sizes of items you need to find and what tiles are still left to be uncovered. One method I usually use during these events is to start at one corner and then proceed diagonally towards the center. But it really depends on the objects that you need to find, as there may be better techniques.
How to Get More Pickaxes in Sunset Treasures
There are five ways to get more pickaxes to use this event, here's all of them.
- Quick Wins
Completing the daily Quick Wins is an easy way to get more free pickaxes. You won't get very many for each one, but they certainly add up to a decent amount if you complete all three for every day of the event.
- Free Shop Gift
Every eight hours you can claim a free gift from the shop. Tap the shop icon, and then slide the top panel to th left until you reach the end. While Sunset Treasures is active, there is a chance to get free pickaxes from this gift.
- Solo Milestone Events
The solo milestone events are the ones whose banned is featured above the game board in the center, and they often hold the most free pickaxes, so do head over to our daily events schedule, to check what the current solo milestone event is to discover how many free pickaxes you can get and which milestones you need to reach to get them.
- Tournaments
Tournaments usually change every day, or every two days, and are featured on the right of the game board, like solo milestone events, you can find out about the current tournament and what you can win by heading to our daily events schedule, to check out the current tournament to discover how many free pickaxes you can get and which milestones you need to reach to get them.
- In the Actual Event
A couple of the levels in Sunset Treasures also give free pickaxes as level completion rewards.

How Many Pickaxes do I Need to Complete Sunset Treasures?
While the actual number will depend on luck and skill in choosing your digging tiles, the usual number of pickaxes needed for an event like this is roughly 400.
The final number will become more clear once we know the layout of each level and how many artifacts you actually need to find.
There will be two banner events for the duration of Sunset Treasures, and three tournaments, so do check the milestone lists for this events by heading to our daily events schedule to find out exactly where all the pickaxes are and how many points you'll need in each of the events to get the number you need.
My Strategy for this Event
the best way to play any dig event is to spread your progress across multiple days. One of the banner events you may want to go a little further in as the number of pickaxes you can get at the higher milestones does increase a lot.
On day one, I managed to get to milestone 20 of the first tournament, Independence Stars , and am at milestone 27 of the banner event, Firework Fortunes, this, along with Quick Wins and free shop gifts got me 170 pickaxes for the first day.
With that I managed to complete level 12 of Sunset Treasures, I recorded my playthrough so you can take a look to see what are on the boards. A couple of new features have been added; a rock that you have to use two pickaxes on to reveal, and a mole that will dig a row, column or square block for you if you find one.
Anyway, here is my playthrough of the first 12 levels of this version of Sunset Treasures:
Pharaoh Scottie Board Token and Scarab Sentinel Shield
This is the first time we've seen this board token and shield skin, the skin you can grab by completing level 10 and the board token by completing level 17. If you have the dice, these are well worth going after, especially the board token which is super cute.
