How to Play Monopoly GO Prize Drop Peg-E

We take a look at how to play Monopoly GO Prize Drop, how to get more chips, and whether or not there is any strategy to it!

  • To get started, when the event is running, tap the Prize Drop token symbol on the right of the main game screen, this will take you the Prize Drop board.
  • Under the head, tap the multiplier that you want to use (x1,x2,x3 etc...) This will determine how many chips you drop per turn. Using a higher multiplier will multiply the number of hits counted on a prize bumper and increase the size of the final reward at the bottom.
  • Then select one of the 5 red buttons to decide where you want to drop the chips.
  • The aim is to hit one of the bumpers, you can make multiple hits with one drop, and then to end up falling through the center hole or as close to it as possible.
  • When you make enough hits on a bumper, you will win the reward shown.
  • Also take note of the rewards bar at the very bottom of the game, it's possible to win some sticker packs and dice there by completing milestones.

Is there a best slot to use in Prize Drop

Thanks to some of our friends in our forum that came up with this strategy, we think that the best option is to utilize either the left most or right most slot, depending on where the cash prize is. Basically, if you see a cash prize use the slot that is furthest away from it.

That we we think there is a better chance of hitting the other bumper and getting some dice or prize drop chips.

How to Get More Prize Drop Chips

To play Prize Drop, you need the prize drop tokens, or chips, to give them their in-game name. You can only get these chips when the event is active, and any that you haven't used by the end of the game are lost (not saved for the next Prize Drop event). Here are all the ways to get more Prize Drop chips in Monopoly GO.

  • Events and Tournaments

While the Peg-E Prize Drop is active, it's possible to win Prize Drop chips by reaching certain milestones in events and tournaments. You would have to check the current event or tournament that is running on Monopoly GO however to get the full details of how many chips and where exactly they are in to be found in the event.

Usually, though, it's one of the best ways to get a decent sized stack of chips to play Plinko with, so when the Prize Drop event is on, do take the time to check out the main events and tournaments because there are chips there waiting to be won!

  • Shop Rewards

Every 8 hours there are free rewards to be claimed in the shop. This usually includes free dice, but when the Prize Drop event is active, it an also include Prize Drop chips too.

  • Quick Wins

Check out the Quick Wins when they appear every day (tap the WINS tap at the bottom of the game), when the Prize Drop event is active, you do stand a good chance of picking up some free Prize Drop chips there when you complete any of the Quick Wins.

  • Completing a Prize Chip Bumper

This may be pointing out the obvious, but when you are playing Prize Drop sometimes one of the bumpers is a chip reward, usually 5.

  • Purchasing Prize Drop Chips

It's also possible to purchase with real money Prize Drop chips, so that is an option if you a players that spends money on this game.

That rounds up all of the ways we know of how to get more Prize Drop chips, if you know other ways, please drop us a note in the comments.

Monopoly GO Prize Drop Strategy

While there doesn't seem to be any real strategy to which slot you choose or which multiplier you select there is some strategy in how yo go about winning those Prize Drop chips from tournaments and events, particularly if you have limited dice and don't spend money on the game.

However, that being dais, forum member, NPCK has suggested to only aim for the bumper that is not the money one as it's much better to get the 5 Prize drop chips or the 20 dice rewards. To do this, try using the far left or far right drop slot that is furthest away from the money bumper. Chips do still skip over the whole board, but probably with less frequency.

As you know you can get Prize Drop chips from both main events and tournaments. Main events usually run for two or three days, and tournaments usually just one (but sometimes two). So there are usually two or three tournaments that run over the same period as a single main event.

My advice is to spread your progress in the main event depending on the frequency of tournaments, so you don't get too far and reach the difficult milestones in the main event when there are more tournaments still to come while that main event is running.

For example, if a main event runs for three days and I think there will be three tournaments over that time period, I will look for a reasonable spot on the tournament to aim for that will not get me enough Prize Drop tokens (usually about mid way through the milestone list) and that won't get me too far in the main event. Then on the next day, same again, and the final day same again, by this time I would have extracted a good amount from three tournaments and not wasted too many dice getting through the difficult milestones at the end of the main event list.

I hope that makes sense! It's hard to put it into words, but basically don't go all in on the first day, pace yourself because main events usually last for the duration of multiple tournaments.

Prize Drop Points and Rewards

The current rewards list for this this event is updated and maintained on this page, Prize Drop rewards and milestones because each time the event runs the rewards lists is different.

The points from hitting the bumpers are clear you'll get whatever is contained in that bumper when you complete the circle. Then wherever the chip drops you'll get that as in-game money. But for every drop you'll also get points towards to milestone list at the bottom of the board.

Points in Prize Drop are gained depending on the multiplier that you used, how many times the bumper was hit and also the amount of money that was won.

The points are as follows:

  • Chip Drop +4
  • Money Won (varies)
  • Bumper Complete +50

The points from the chip drop will be multiplied by the multiplier that you used for that drop.

The milestones list at the bottom of the event game window offers some great rewards, the first few are relatively easy to get, but as with anything in Monopoly GO, completing all milestones in an event is very difficult. Tap on the milestones list to find out how many points you need to get to the next one. The milestones will reset after the event, so when the next Prize Drop event starts you'll be back to zero again.

Prize Drop Rewards for the Event April 21st-25th 2024

When the event starts we will start to collate information for the prizes and rewards for this event. We don't know exactly what to expect. But usually there is a wild sticker somewhere in the rewards.

We can also expect to see at least one five star purple sticker pack. Also, there has not been a Sticker Boom for a little while, and while I've never seen a Sticker Boom in a Prize Drop event, we may even see one in the rewards list this time around - who knows, we'll have to wait a bit longer to find out.

Rewards and milestones for the current version of this event, will be posted on this page, Prize Drop rewards and milestones .

Peg-E Prize Drop Event Schedule

The Peg-E Prize drop usually runs for about 4-5 days roughly about once per month, so look out for it when it's on as it's a decent way to get some free dice. A lot of people like to hoard their Prize Drop chips and use them at the end. There is no advantage to this and you do risk losing them all if you forget about them and the event ends!

The latest version of this event runs from April 21st, 2024 at (8AM PT / 11AM ET / 4PM BST) and runs until April 25th at (12PM PT / 3PM ET / 8PM GMT), giving you four days and four hours to play Prize Drop.

How did people get the Peg-E Token?

The Toy Peg-E token was won by players that completed the Toy Partners event, it was part of the rewards pack that any player that completed all four toys in the event. At the time of writing, it's the first and only time that the Toy Peg-E token has been made available to win in Monopoly GO.

How did people get the Peg-E Shield?

The Peg-E shield could have been won in an earlier event or tournament. It may be available to win in the future in a different event.

That about wraps up everything we know about how to play Prize Drop in Monopoly GO. If you are looking for ways to get more dice to keep playing then head over to our Monopoly Go Cheats and Tips page for our best ideas on how to keep rolling!
