How to play Greek Treasures and get all rewards

Greek Treasures is a new 'dig for treasure' event on Monopoly Go runs from 12 PM ET on January 16th, 2025 and last just over four days until 3 PM ET on January 20th.

As with other dig events in Monopoly Go you will make progress by collecting pickaxes through other events and actions in the game while Greek Treasures is active. Then use these to search for the rewards through the levels of the event. Check below for our list of all the ways to get more pickaxes.

Greek Treasures Rewards and How to Get More Pickaxes

In this event there are many prizes to claim including dice, various sticker packs, a Greek Treasures Scottie board token and the Greek Guard shield. If you manage to complete the whole event, a five star purple sticker pack, 2,500 dice and a heap of cash is you final reward.

How to Play Greek Treasures

Collect pickaxes from solo events, tournaments, quick wins and shop gifts and then use those pickaxes to uncover the treasure on each level.

In each level there are hidden a number of treasures, above the game board you can see the objects that need to be found, each object occupies a certain number of tiles on the game board and can be orientated either horizontally or vertically. You'll need to spend your pickaxes wisely in order to make good guesses based on what needs to be found.

Unless you are looking for items that are 1x1 it's best to spread out your guesses based on the sizes of items you need to find and what tiles are still left to be uncovered. One method I usually use during these events is to start at one corner and then proceed diagonally towards the center. But it really depends on the objects that you need to find, as there may be better techniques.

How to Get More Pickaxes for Greek Treasures

There are five ways to get more pickaxes to use this event, here's all of them.

• Quick Wins

  Completing the daily Quick Wins is an easy way to get more free pickaxes. You won't get very many for each one, but they certainly add up to a decent amount if you complete all three for every day of the event.

• Free Shop Gift

  Every eight hours you can claim a free gift from the shop. Tap the shop icon, and then slide the top panel to th left until you reach the end. While Greek Treasures is active, there is a chance to get free pickaxes from this gift.

• Solo Milestone Events

  The solo milestone events are the ones whose banner is featured above the game board in the center, and they often hold the most free pickaxes, so do head over to our daily events schedule, to check what the current solo milestone event is to discover how many free pickaxes you can get and which milestones you need to reach to get them.

• Tournaments

  Tournaments usually change every day, or every two days, and are featured on the right of the game board. • In the Actual Event

  A couple of the levels in Greek Treasures also give free pickaxes as level completion rewards.

How Many Pickaxes do I Need to Complete Greek Treasures?

While the actual number will depend on luck and skill in choosing your digging tiles, the usual number of pickaxes needed for an event like this is roughly 400.

There will be two solo banner events for the duration of Greek Treasures, and possibly three tournaments, so do check the milestone lists for this events by heading to our daily events schedule to find out exactly where all the pickaxes are and how many points you'll need in each of the events to get the number you need.

My Strategy for this Event

Dig events last for over 4 days each time which means that you can spread your progress across multiple days and multiple parallel events.

I will be checking each of the solo and tournament events as they come up to make sure I can get the best number of pickaxes from each one. The solo banner events especially can offer high numbers of pickaxe rewards if you are able to reach high enough milestones.

This is the first time we've seen this board token and shield skin, the skin you can grab by completing level 10 and the board token by completing level 17.
