Shields are really important in Monopoly GO, once you have some buildings constructed in a level you are open to losing shields in the game. Once you have lost all of your shields, then your existing buildings in your current level are open to attack, bringing down your net worth and having to pay more money in order to fix them.

While shields are relatively easy to acquire in the game, you just need to land on tiles with the shield image in them, wouldn't it be better if you had a strategy which meant that you didn't lose any shields? Here's how.

Don't build. If you have no buildings in your current level, then you cannot be attacked and can't lose shields.

No build, no hits

There are a few good reasons for doing this.

Every time you land on a shield on the board, you'll get back the number of dice that you threw to get there.

So basically, it's just like having a free throw opportunity.

You can't get hit with the attacks that can be really draining on your Net Worth in the game.

Yes if you are stashing a lot of money in your account, then it is possible to get hit there. But most of the time these are for small amounts.

You can still get hit hard though, so this strategy is not without risks, you make your own decision on how you want to play the game, but for now, we are trying out this strategy to just build when we have enough money to complete a level.

  Yes, your account cash can still get raided, if in principal, you can lose it all. So that is the downside of holding your cash and waiting to build.
