Dragons: Rise of Berk Guide

Last Updated:

These are the key buildings that you can construct and upgrade. You'll need to invest vast amounts of time and resources to initiate work on these structures, but they are absolutely essential in order to be able to run your Berk efficiently. So do check on these buildings periodically and upgrade them when possible. In addition to constructing buildings, you can also spend wood to rebuild bridges which allows for access to new areas on which to expand your village.

Buildings

  • The Meade Hall is where you find a selection of accommodations to house your population in. Each type of building adds a specific number of vikings to your workforce, which allows for more structures to be built. After all, manpower and materials are key elements to expanding a village. Keep in mind that the larger the building, the more expensive and time-consuming it is to construct. Upgrade the Meade Hall to gain access to additional housing types.
  • Buildings

  • The Saw Mill controls the maximum number of dragons that can collect lumber at one time. Saw Mills start out at level 1 which means that only one dragon will be allowed to harvest lumber. The highest level this structure can reach is 3, and you gain access to more of them as your Berk expands and claims more territory. Keep in mind that wood harvesting is disabled for any dragon working in the particular territory where a Saw Mill is being upgraded.
  • Buildings

  • The Fish Hut controls the maximum number of dragons that can collect fish at one time. Fish Huts start out at level 1 which means that only one dragon will be allowed to harvest fish. The highest level this structure can reach is 3, and you gain access to more of them as your village expands and claims more territory. Keep in mind that fish harvesting is disabled for any dragon working in the particular area where a Fish Hut is in the process of being upgraded.
  • Buildings

  • The Wood Stack is where all the lumber reserves for your village are housed. Upgrade this periodically to increase its maximum capacity, allowing for construction of bigger buildings. You can purchase wood here using runes.

  • The Fish Basin is where all the fish reserves for your village are housed. Upgrade this periodically to increase its maximum capacity, allowing for construction of bigger buildings. You can also purchase fish here using runes.
  • Buildings

  • The Catapult is only used when you defend your village from raids, and it can only be upgraded after you've defeated a certain fleet number. The catapult costs a large amount of your already limited energy reserves to fire, so either destroy supply ships during raids or use this weapon wisely and sparingly.
  • Buildings

  • The Hangar is where you send dragon hatchlings when you run out of space to place their roosts in the village. Dragons in the hangar can be leveled up in the same way as the actively working dragons, but you will have to put a roost in the village for a particular dragon before it can start collecting resources.
  • Buildings

  • The Academy is where you train dragons to increase their levels and make them stronger. The academy can only train dragons up to certain level and you must upgrade the building to increase that range. Normally, only one dragon can be sent in for training at a time but you can expand the building with runes to increase that number. A set number of wood is also needed to initiate training and that amount increases significantly as the dragon gets stronger.
  • Buildings

  • The Hatchery is where dragon eggs stay for a set amount of time until they are ready to hatch. Normally, only one dragon egg can be hatched here at a time ut you can expand the building with runes to increase that number. Dragon eggs are obtained when Hiccup and Toothless go exploring and the eggs take more time to hatch depending on the type of species involved.
