Chrono Astraea is an idle gacha RPG where you collect legendary heroes and epic loot to strengthen them and allow you to tackle harder challenges and various game modes. Gacha mechanics is a staple for hero-collection mobile games, and Chrono Astraea is no different. In our Gacha Guide, we will discuss how the game’s gacha system works.

Gacha Overview

If you’re playing other gacha mobile games then you’re already familiar with how Chrono Astraea’s summoning system works. If this is your first time you’ve heard of it, think of it as a lottery. You’ll need to spend premium currency or special items for a chance to get something from the pool of possible prizes/items/characters. The rarer/more valuable items or characters have a lower drop or appearance rate compared to their uncommon or common counterparts.

Summoning (Gacha) Guide

In Chrono Astraea, the only gacha aspect of the game is its Summoning system. Basically, you have to spend diamonds or summon scrolls to summon characters. You can summon individually or by batches of 10. One summon attempt costs 100 Diamonds or 1 summon scroll. Normally, other games have a discounted rate for x10 summons but unfortunately, the game doesn’t have such discount. On a positive note, at least the cost for individual summons is relatively affordable.

You can collect diamonds by completing daily and weekly quests, as well as receive them as login rewards, rewards from battle pass, etc. Summon Scrolls are not awarded in recurring quests but you can also get them from some of the limited reward options mentioned above.

Banners are concepts present in other mobile games. Basically these act as categories which have featured boosted characters but will share the same pool of characters most of the time. The game has three types of banners: Pickup Summon, Premium Summon, and Gold Summon. We will discuss these banners in detail below.

Pickup Summon

This summon type will have a featured character that will have a boosted drop rate. However, boosted drop rate doesn’t mean that you’re guaranteed to get the character. It just means that if ever you trigger a 4-star (SSR) character’s appearance during the summoning attempt, the featured character has a higher chance of appearing among the possible 4-star characters that you can get. Individual summons are not available in Pickup Summon Banners; you’re only allowed to make Summon x10 attempts.

Thankfully, the game has a Pity System. This system ensures that you’ll get the featured character after a set number of summons. The Pickup Summon has two variations of this pity system. In the first Pickup banner, you’re guaranteed to get the featured character after 100 summons.

Summoning (Gacha) Guide

In the second Pickup banner version, you’re guaranteed to get the boosted hero on the 60th summon if you fail to get him/her on the 5 earlier attempts. Normally, the pity counter resets as soon as you get the boosted character before hitting the guaranteed summon rate. That is not implied in these banners but it would make sense if they do.

Premium Summon

In this banner, you have the chance to pull all the current heroes in the game. Normally, limited-event characters are not added immediately to the base hero pools. Another advantage of this banner is that it allows individual pulls. The major con however is that there seems to be no pity system available on this banner so what you pull is what you get.

Gold Summon

Finally, we have the basic banner called the Gold Summon. In this banner, you can only use gold. However, this still costs a lot since a x10 pull will cost you 250,000 gold. This is a great place to summon if you need fodder heroes for evolving your main heroes and if you have a lot of gold lying around. The highest rarity you can get from this banner is SR (3-star), and you’re only allowed to make 30 summons at a time.
