How battles work in Call of Antia
Call of Antia: Match 3 RPG Guide
Call of Antia is a Fantasy RPG with a mix of Match 3 Puzzle gameplay. You might be wondering how all of these elements will work together since they seem to be different genres. In this game, you get to fight various enemies, and you’ll be able to attack based on your success in puzzle solving.
In this page, we’ll be checking out how battles work in Call of Antia. There are a variety of elements that will help you out in your battle, so let us see the basics that are needed in order for you to learn how to progress with the stages that you’ll be expecting.
Match 3 Gameplay
The primary battles that you’ll have in Call of Antia are done through the Match 3 Puzzle gameplay system. In Call of Antia, you’ll have to slide Naya Stones and match at least three colors in order for you to deal an attack. This information is provided to you at the tutorial when starting the game.
The color that you match will determine the element of attack that you will use versus your opponent. You must also take note that the location of your stones will affect the direction your attack will go. For example, enemies on the left side of the screen will only be hit by Naya Stones matched on the left side. If you match stones and enemies aren’t in the line of fire, then it won’t deal damage, however this will still help recover Mana of your Heroes of the same element as the stone you matched.
Combining 4 Naya Stones: Since matching 3 Naya Stones will provide a regular attack, you might wonder what will happen if you combine 4 stones. Whenever this happens, you can tap on the combined stone and it will use all stones adjacent to it, and it will deal attacks based on the elements that are used.
Combining 5 or more Naya Stones: Whenever you combine 5 or more Naya Stones, you’ll be able to use the Naya Blaster. Tapping on this stone will activate all stones of the same color, and it will use a strong attack. This will also provide a lot of Mana gain for your Hero of the same element.
Element Bonuses
Another feature of battles are the elements that you use in order to fight. There are 5 elements in Call of Antia and they can provide you with bonuses based on the ones that you use. You can check the element bonuses based on the image below:
Using Skills
Each Hero that you have has their own HP, as well as Mana bar. Mana is acquired whenever you match Naya Stones of the same color as their element. Once your Mana is full, you’ll be able to use your Hero’s corresponding skill. You will know if you can use a skill since a flashing light will surround your Hero’s portrait.
You can tap on all heroes that have skills ready if you want to use them in succession, but you can also time your skills for later. Some heroes have offensive roles, healing roles, and supportive roles that can change the tide of battle. Skills can help deal more damage, heal your team, debuff enemies, and more.
Using your Dragon
Once you have unlocked the Dragon’s Nest, you will be able to get your first Dragon to your team. Dragons can be used once you have filled up the bar by using your Hero’s skills. Once your Dragon is ready to be summoned, tap on the Dragon icon. You’ll be able to watch a short cutscene of the dragon using the skill that they have.
Alternatively, you can double tap this if you want to skip the cutscene as well. There are a variety of Dragons that you’ll be able to acquire on your journey, so make sure to check if you’ll be able to get their shards. They have various skills that can be used which is helpful for your battle.
Completing the Stage
You’ll be able to complete a stage once you have cleared all waves and defeated all enemies. Each stage in the game’s campaign has a 3-Star rating system, and you’ll be able to get 1 star for completing each of the following activities:
1: Clear the stage.
2: No hero was lost
3: Clear the stage within X rounds
Note: X rounds refers to a number of rounds and this varies on every stage in the game’s campaign.
As you progress in later stages, your enemies will become stronger. From there, you’ll then focus on making your heroes stronger by increasing their levels, ascending them, as well as providing them with equipment. The difficulty of the game will be evident once you reach Chapter 6 onwards, so you will need to dedicate your time on your team.
