How do I help friend to get silver clovers to play the lucky game?

Friends must ask for help filling their train and boat needs. They will ask for e.g. 1 cheese for their train. If you have a cheese and give it to them, the friend will (hopefully) give you a silver clover for the lucky tent. Although I have been stiffed on occasion.
