Level 81, all 6 villages, still haven't gotten platinum or rubies from the mine. Any ideas?

I was like you and ended up just reloading the game and starting over (the first time through I had skipped over a lot in each village just to get to the next village and ended up missing a lot of puzzles to unlock, then found myself stuck because the game doesn't "end" and you can't go back and finish challenges or build stuff you missed). In your case you probably don't have to start over like me (call me a puzzle nerd, but since there is no "finish line" or "game won" point that I can see, I started over because I wanted to complete a perfect game in order to feel like I achieved SOMETHING, and this time with such great patience...), but this is what I found when I was completing quests in old villages to increase my influence for more magic tools: rubies and platinum only become possible to get as bonus tiles from gold and diamonds in certain villages and only during certain quests (but only after you moved on from that village, not while you are still building it - trust me, I tried). For example, if you go back to the first village that had access to the sea (usually your third village), keep completing the quests available until you get to the quest saying the ironworks installed a new furnace - when you go mining during this quest, if you are able to collect a chain of 8 diamonds you will get a ruby as a bonus tile, and a platinum for 8 gold. When you do this, it is best to have a magic wand handy to collect it because chances are slim that you will ever have the opportunity to collect it as a 3 chain, and also it helps to have the magic tools "philosopher's stone" and "rose-coloured glass" so you can get a mine full of gold or diamonds in order to make the most number of the ruby and platinum bonus tiles as possible in one go. You will achieve your resource faster that way (takes ten ruby or platinum tiles to get the resource, and as far as I can tell there is no worker to help reduce that number). The only use I have seen for rubies and platinum is for when you go to sea and are able to use them as goods for navigation moves - I am assuming that once you find them they will become available for trade in the 6th village. If there is more beyond the 6th village, maybe they will be more useful??? I am still on my 5th village in this second go around (still trying to unlock certain puzzles and get the prehistoric figures collection before moving on) so I do not know yet if having the rubies and platinum already available by the time I build the 6th will have a different effect. I am not on Facebook so I don't know if they are used in royal quests or not. By the way, the village where you first get a mine can also give you rubies and platinum during certain quests, but because the size of the mine is small, it usually isn't worth the trouble to try it there. Same here. Level 86. The lack of rubies and platinum is really getting to me.

An alternate way to get it is by using the rare chest map item to spawn a rare chest, then there is a chance that your reward will be 1 platinum bar or rubies

I'm still just L52 and have earned 2/10 of each but ONLY from the WINTER mine...so far.

I am at level 132. To move on and work on the castle, I need a lot of rubies and platinum. There is no way to get them in the 6th village (no mine but you can purchase rocks and gems etc. with other goods.). I will be doing this for years because I only have one or two towns as mentioned earlier, that can even work up to rubies and platinum. Oh well....

For those who are still playing, you can just buy all you want with coin at the same page you sell them to get money. Easily get everything you want if you have enough coins !
