The purpose is to get new icons. You collect binoculars on each level and you have to get ten to open a gift. Opening a gift gives you pictures of cats and dogs (in Furry Friends). You need to collect that picture 3 times before you can have it as your icon. Duplicates are pictures you have collected 4 or more times and give you an extra gift

I have gotten all the furry friend icons except for the last strong dog. I have gone thru many levels and it’s not coming up. Is it broken? Guest Replied

It's really pointless once you've collected the three icons to use for a crown, the additional ones mean nothing but yet you continue to collect it seems like hundreds of them. Guest Replied
